Tommy

There was this kid named Tommy
Just a regular guy
Had the same regular problems
As you or I

He was sweet on a girl
Who didn't know he existed
he decided to change that
And with a little persistence

He found his way to the seat
Next to the girl that he adored
And before the night was over
They ended up on the dance floor

They left that dance together
The guy with the girl of his dreams
Holding her phone number in his hands
Her wearing his class ring

One month later they were still inseparable
They loved each other as much two kids could
They tried to see each other as much as possible
Like every couple-in-love would

Well one day there was auditions for the play
And the girl got the leading role
And even though Tommy didn't make the cut
He was sad but didn't let her know

In the weeks that followed
As the play progressed
The practices were longer and on weekends
And they saw each other less and less

As we all know how young eyes float
The girl thought a cast member was hot
So she decided she loved somebody else
And told Tommy on the spot

He felt heartbroken and he felt used
As he made his way to his home
And on his way there he started to cry
Because he realized that he was walking alone


He thought, What did I do?
How could it be?
Why is he holding her?
What's wrong with me?
