HAPPY HALLOWEEN and welcome to the first issue of The Algerian Hockey Report!

The Algerain Hockey Reports picks for the 1998-99 season.

*A note about the picks, each year, before the start of the regular season (minutes before this year, what can we say, it snuck up on us) the names of every team are written on a piece of paper and placed in the sacred Canadians hat to be drawn, or in Lemieux's case, to be dumped on the floor so she can grab one and run with it. On to our picks:

JR's (our fictional friend who will write an occational editoral or two) pick: Detriot Red Wings

-Lemieux Ling Roy

• He wants to make sure Colorado will be able to afford to sign Forsberg as well as himself.
• He keeps looking behind the net saying "Am I going crazy or is there more room back there?"
• Insane fans keep calling him at 3 a.m. asking what's up with his game.
• One of his other personalities, Patty, has taken over. ^{please see Liz's article below for more details}
• Hey, Brodeur isn't doing too great himself.
• He has been forbidden to play the puck. Which leads to his mind wondering, 'The other goalie's not paying attention, if I get the puck... I could score!!'.
• Forsberg, what's wrong with that guy?
• Waterboy being paid, by a goalie that's tired of looking like a Hershey Bear bar, to put things in Roy's water bottle.
• No size 65 jersey.
• No Uwe there, oh, wait a minute, he used to score goals on Roy.
• Stinkin' rookies. Just kidding, we love you guys!
