Hervey Bay Golf Course, My home course is situated at one end of beautiful Hervey Bay about
half an hours drive towards the ocean from Maryborough in Queensland, Australia & is made up of 9 holes
of relativey open fairways dotted with a couple of tight water holes, followed by 9 holes of tree lined
fairways. This course plays long into strong winds.
Maryborough Golf Course is situated approximately thirty minutes drive inland from Hervey Bay & is
a short but challenging course lined mainly with pine trees & situated in the centre of residential Maryborough.
Golfers must keep their balls on the fairways as the rough is thick & the pine trees punishing..
Bundaberg, Just over one hour north has Bagarra golf course & Bundaberg Golf course. Bagarra is by
the beach & is one of the most pleasent courses to play A recent edition to this area is Coral Cove Resort
course at Elliot Heads on the beach near Bundaberg. A well constructed course of nine holes with nine
more holes recently opened.
Update on Coral Cove Resort. I have some photo's on this site as well as some more Queensland links.
Tin Can Bay Golf Course. About one hour south on the coast is a nice course in a holiday area. With good club
house facilities, I would recommend a visit. Our regular group of four visit this course yearly for a challenge cup. Further south we have Gympie, Nambour , Coolum Resort, Caloundra,
all with in 2 hours of Hervey Bay. And Queensland's Gold Coast with all its resort courses a further
one hour away.
In beautiful north Queensland I have played Willows, Rose Bay, & Townsville courses all in Townsville.
Townsville with its 27 hole layout is challenging. Hello to Terry up there , my Golfing mate. Luguna Keys near Mackay is a high quality resort
course. I have had many trips to Capricorn Resort at Yeppoon, near Rockhampton. Here there are two 18
hole courses. One is a links layout whilst the other is cut through the jungle with at least 9 holes
of water.
