"Proper Fit Means Better Golf"

Custom Club Overview

My fitting process begins with a thorough player interview that includes personal data such as your name, address, height, weight, experience level, physical limitations, etc.  All information is kept strictly confidential to protect your personal right to privacy.  Next, we look at your current set makeup including equipment brand, your favorite & least favorite clubs, etc.  Then we address your ball-striking tendencies with the driver, fairway woods, long irons, mid-irons, short irons and wedges.  The interview finishes with you identifying your playing and game improvement goals (see Shotmaking Factors) along with equipment preferences (steel, graphite, oversize, offset, etc.).

Step two involves measuring your physical specs (grip size, club length, etc.) and charting your current equipment specifications (club length, total weight, swing weight, grip size, grip type, shaft flex, etc.).

Step three is a dynamic fitting session that includes measurements for swing speed & tempo, optimum club length & shaft flex, and correct lie angle.

I then put together several recommendations for your consideration.   Sometimes a simple loft and/or lie adjustment or grip change is all that’s required.  If an equipment change is suggested (and mutually agreed to), I assemble a test club, typically based on your favorite club, for you to evaluate.  We may make minor adjustments to the test club in order to achieve the proper fit and feel.  Once the test club feels right to you, I build the remaining clubs based on the test club specifications.  This is what true professional club fitting is all about, properly fitted equipment assembled from first quality components, to meet individual player specifications and shotmaking  needs.
