The 2008 Bayou Bogey Championship tournament will be held Friday and Saturday, August 15th and 16th at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, AL. We will play The Crossings on Friday and The Falls on Saturday. Tee times begin at 7:00 AM each day. Please arrive by 6:30 AM to check in.
The fee will be $160 payable to Bayou Bogey and will include your greens fee, cart and prize fee as well as lunch each day at the course and the pairings party. Fees for the Calcutta, birdie pool, and bogey pool are separate as those are "optional" participation events.
The Pairings Party will be held Sunday, August 10th at 2 PM and will be held at Marty Armentrout's house located at 28 Elmwood Loop in Madisonville, LA. Please indicate whether or not you will be attending the pairings party when you RSVP. If you are attending the pairings party and intend to bring a guest, please note that when you RSVP. As always, guests are welcome at the pairings party. Please respond as early as possible so that we can prepare by purchasing food and drinks well ahead of time.
The RSVP deadline is Friday, August 8th.
We will have Calcuttas for both days at the championship. To participate in the Calcutta for the first round, you must be physically present at the pairings party when we conduct the Calcutta. If you can't attend the pairings party, you can participate in the second round of the Calcutta as long as you are physically present when we do the Calcutta following lunch after the first round. We will once again have a birdie pool and a bogey pool for $20 each. You can participate in either, neither, or both. These pools are for the cumulative total of birdies and bogeys, respectively, over the two rounds. If you can't make the pairings party, you can still participate in the birdie and bogey pools by informing John Crawford of your intent before the first group tees off on Friday. If two or more people tie with the most birdies/bogeys, all people tie and everyone gets their money back. These "side" bets are where all the action is and they are incredibly fun.
