CIVILIAN HUMMER
If someone (crazy enough)
would like to buy a Hummer he has to know that the civilian Hummer is not
a jeep (much closer to a tank), and is not ment for a ride to the nearest
grocery.
A close look at the frame structure of the Hummer tells us where its weight
comes from (about 3.4 tons for the civilian Hummer). Without the external
shield the Hummer looks like a rail road.
Everything connected to this fighter goes all the way, its height above the surface is 41cm, it also has the ability to climb obstacles 60cm high (?!).
But when driving on main roads the advantages turn into disadvantages. Even with the new turbo diesel motor, the Hummer needs 17 seconds in order to reach 96km/h, and the stopping distance is 53.6m. Its heavy performance and its 2.19m width (23cm more then the "Ford Expedition") make driving difficult on city roads.
The price of the Hummer is also pretty heavy, the basic price is $44,000 (but that's not all...), additions like Diesel Motor($4,300) luxury pack($9,500), central wheel inflation($2,700),inside fancy finish($2,700) can raise the price up to $82,000.
But even with all those, there is no doubt that whoever plans an invasion of a fortress, will enjoy the Hummer's high performance.
There are 5 main types of the civilian Hummer , please pick of one of the Hummers below for more detail:
