Received from Lynda Fenton of Amherst, NS:While the memories of Interprov '97 are still fresh in my mind, I wanted to express my thanks and appreciation for your outstanding job.I found the [event] program to have large spaces for recording numbers, was easy to follow daily, contained interesting information, and all in all, was well laid out. I particularly appreciated the arrangement of the dancing in one stage area only. This took away the pressure of trying to find a particular room and seating in a hurry. The seating was comfortable and easily accessible. The line up area was spacious and cool and the groups moved along on and off the stage quickly and smoothly. The signt of 9 stages of dancers dancing at one time made a lasting impression. I cannot being to imagine how many people worked through the night to transform the stage area for its many purposes. Each morning the area had a different look for a new purpose with tastefully appropriate decorations in place. The prizes represented the high standard of Nova Scotia craftsmanship. The swords, paintings, stained glass and pewter are items that may well become tresured heirlooms. In my mind the sight of Heather Collis stopping to visit with people as she pulled her wooden wagon of beautiful prizes from place to place, sums up Interprov '97. The whole event was done using quality materials, time, effort and expertise yet the atmosphere was not pretentious but friendly, warm, inviting and enjoyable. I am sure there must have been problems, but in my opinion from the surface, the event was staged in such a manner to make Nova Scotians proud. To all those who contributed to the success of Interprov '97 - a well deserved 100,000 Thank You's. |
The volunteers who helped make this event a reality thank Ms. Fenton
for her comments. Most everyone seemed to be quite pleased with the
week of activities and that made it worthwhile effort.
