Satanic message in "Stairway To Heaven" when played backwards? Back in the 1970's, I heard a rumour that if you played "Stairway To Heaven" backwards, you would hear satanic messages. I simply had to hear this for myself so I unplugged the power cord from my turntable (remember those?) and spun the record backwards by hand. It was interesting... especially the line "and there's still time to change the road you're on". A few years later, I heard a radio interview with Robert Plant. When he was asked about the "messages" his reply was "if you play this interview backwards you'll probably also hear some weird stuff". In other words, it was unintentional. That's the story.
