The Official Jazz Martini, Too

The Official Jazz-L Martini, Too

a.k.a.

The Margrave Martini

  • Start with absolutely clean equipment

  •
  • Measure two ounces premium VODKA into glass shaker.  By premium, we do not mean Stoli, Fris, Gilby's, Gordon's, Absolut, or anything on those levels. We mean THE VERY BEST VODKA. Our bar's choice is an incrediblly clean-tasting concoction from Poland called BELVEDERE, probably not available everywhere.

  •
  • Add a few drops of very dry vermouth and a few drops of the brine from a jar of olives.

  •
  • Add ice, STIR, and strain.

  •
  • Serve in well-chilled martini glass.

  •
  • Garnish with two or three olives skewered together . This suffices as finger food, thus alleviating you from being forced to cook.

  •
  • VARIATION: Marinate the hot peppers in the gin or vodka for twenty-four hours. If this isn't possible, there are two alternatives:

  •

  • If you don't have the above ingredients on hand, a biting alternative is to use Cajun Cactus-juice,  bow resin, & bayou swampwater.
