Janis knew she had to be strong and find help. She wanted AJ and the guys more
than anything. She slowly picked herself up, trying her hardest to ignore the
pain and blood. She avoided looking down, knowing that seeing her own blood
would throw her off. She wobbled a little on her first step, but eventually
steadied herself out. She headed out the way she came in, hoping to reach the
road.

(BACK AT THE HOUSE)
AJ had slowly calmed down, but was still cradled by Nick. He kept praying to
himself and keeping his hopes up, that Janis would be ok. Kevin was trying hard
to be strong too, hanging on every minute that went by.

They all wanted to do something about this, but there was nothing they could
do. All they could do was wait to see what would happen, but it killed them to
be so helpless.

(BACK TO JANIS)
Janis had finally reached the road, and looked around. She got dizzy all of a
sudden, and fell. She laid there for a minute, gathering any strength she had,
then picking herself up again.

Within 15 minutes of slow walking and struggling, she could see the main road.
As she got closer, she saw an old gas station with a phone on the side. She
began to cry again. She could feel herself getting closer to AJ, whispering to
herself. "Please God, let it work… please work!" She picked up the phone and
heard the dial tone. "Oh, thank you God." She said, relieved. She was shaking
uncontrollably as she dialed collect.

(AT THE HOUSE)
Everyone jumped to the phone ring. The officer's were ready to trace, just in
case. AJ was shaking from being nervous as he answered the phone. He was
surprised when her heard the voice of an operator.

"You have a collect call from…"
"Janis!" She screamed
AJ gasped
"Do you accept?"
"Yes…I accept!" AJ said
"AJ?!?!" Janis cried again
"Janis…Baby are you ok?"
"AJ, I need help."
"Where's Shawn?" Kevin asked from behind
"Janis, where is Shawn?" AJ repeated
"Shawn?" Janis panted "I…I don't know, he's gone."
"Where are you?" AJ asked
"Uhm…there's a gas station…and…the trees…and…" Janis closed her eyes. "AJ, you
gotta hurry." She was breathing heavily and getting weaker. Her body was tired
and she wanted to drop.
"That's it!!! We got her!!!' The officer shouted
"Alright, baby we're on our way. Just stay where you are." AJ said
"Kevin, you guys go. We'll wait here." Brian said
"Alright, we'll call." Kevin said

Kevin and AJ followed the police to the spot. When they arrived, the ambulance
was arriving as well. It took about 15 minutes for them to get there.

AJ and Kevin got out of the car as the police searched the spot.

"Where is she?" AJ said, worried
"I don't know." Kevin responded.

Just then, the police officer shined his flashlight on a dark area near the
phone.

"There she is!!" The officer shouted

AJ tried to run to her, but Kevin held him back. AJ stopped moving when he saw
them bringing her out on the stretcher. Her eyes were closed and there was blood
on her clothes.

"Oh my God… there's blood." AJ said trying to get away from Kevin, but Kevin
wouldn't let go. "She's bleeding Kevin…she…she's bleeding." AJ's voice cracked
as he started to cry and try harder to break away from Kevin. "I have to help
her… I… I need to be with her… I have to hold her Kevin!!!" AJ was trying so
hard to break away from Kevin's grasp, that with every push, he jumped off the
ground. Once AJ saw them putting the oxygen mask on Janis' face, he stopped and
crumbled from the rush he just experienced from his emotions.

"You guys follow us to the hospital." The officer said

Kevin said ok, and helped AJ to his car.

(AT THE HOSPITAL)
AJ sat there in the waiting room, while Kevin called the others.

"They're on their way." Kevin said taking a seat next to him. AJ nodded and he
zoned on the floor.

He was interrupted when a foot blocked his view. He looked up and saw a nurse.

"Are you guys here for Janis?" She asked
"Yes, we are." They said quickly standing up.
"Well, as of right now, she's stable. She was beaten and stabbed three times in
the stomach area, but there was no major damages." She explained

Kevin and AJ's mouths slightly opened when they heard the news. The nurse
continued

"It may take her a while, but she should heal nicely."
Kevin swallowed. "Can we see her?" He asked
"Now isn't exactly the best time. We're still working with her, but I will come
back to let you know."
"Ok, thank you." Kevin said

The nurse walked away and AJ was still speechless. They both looked at each
other and slightly smiled. Kevin's smile turned to crying as they hugged each
other in relief.

The nurse soon returned to tell them they could see her. While walking them
down the hall, she explained little details.

"She has a few cuts and scratches on her arms and legs, but we're not sure what
it's from. We think it may have been glass."
"Glass?!" AJ repeated
"Yah, we think. We haven't really had the chance to talk to her. She was
unconscious when she was brought in, but now she's just resting. She'll probably
wake up to you… Here she is."

The nurse let them in and left the room. AJ went to the side of the bed and
grabbed her hand, while Kevin slowly approached.

Janis felt the grip of someone's hand on hers, so she opened her eyes. She
blinked a couple of times to get the blur away. As soon as her vision came
back, she saw AJ staring down at her.

"Hi baby." He whispered
"AJ." She began to cry. Seeing his warm familiar face felt so good and relaxing.
She never realized how much she missed him.

AJ felt her grip get tighter as he kissed her forehead. He lightly laid his
head on hers and ran his fingers through her hair.

"It's ok, it's all over now." He said. He then lifted his head and looked
straight at her. With heavy tears falling from her eyes, she looked at Kevin. He
walked to her side and grabbed her hand.
"Hi sweetie." He said, kissing her head.
"Hi Kev." Janis sniffled
"How are you feeling?" He asked
"I got pain killers." Janis said with a grin. AJ and Kevin smiled and laughed.
"Where's the other three?" Janis asked
"Oh, they're coming. Actually, I should go meet them, Give you guys some time
alone…I'll be back." Kevin said

Before walking out, Kevin tapped AJ's shoulder, and AJ tapped Kevin's hand. He
walked out and shut the door.
