AJ cracked one eye open and looked at his window. He could see the sun
shinning through the edge of the curtain. He rubbed his eyes and slowly opened
them again. His cell phone started ringing under his pants on the floor.
Draggin himself off the bed, not fully awake, he picked up his phone.
"Hello?" He said with a low raspy voice.
"Morning sunshine! Time to get your lazy ass up boy!" Brian said
"Mmmmm!!! Where the hell are you?" AJ mumbled.
"Ummm…. In the kitchen!" Brian replied. "Now get off that floor and go wake up
Kevin and Janie!!"
AJ got up and walked to his dresser still holding the phone up to his ear.
"Brian?"
"What?"
"Get out of my closet!!" AJ hung up the phone and tossed it on the bed.
Brian opened the closet door and stepped out, trying not to laugh. AJ put on a
pair of shorts over his boxers.
"Nick, Howie…. You too!!" AJ said turning to the closet. They both stepped out
laughing as well.
"How the hell did you know?" Howie asked
"You guys need to learn how to shut up when sneaking into a room." AJ replied….
The three peeping toms started laughing again as they walked down the hall. AJ
stopped in the doorway at Kevin's room where he and Janis were sleeping. He
looked at Janis, then to Kevin.
"I wish that was me…" AJ said softly "I'd love to wake up next to her every
morning!"
Brian put his hand on AJ's shoulder waking him up once again. AJ sighed then
cleared his throat, preparing to wake them up. Brian stepped in front of him,
before he could say anything and walked to the bed.
"Hey guys, time to get up." Brian said.
Immediately, Kevin woke up and looked at everyone around him
"Why, what are we doing?" Kevin asked
"We want to go to the beach." Brian responded
"Oh, ok," Kevin sat up and looked back at the sill sleeping Janis.
"I think she's still suffering from jet lag. She hasn't slept very much since
she got here, so it might be a little hard to wake her up." Kevin looked
straight at AJ.
"Go for it Bone!!" He said
Kevin stood up and followed the rest of the guys out the door. AJ stood there
watching her then moved onto the bed. He put a hand on her arm and his lips to
hear ear.
"Wake up sweetie" He whispered
Janis cracked her eyes open and struggled to keep them there. AJ brushed her
bangs off her cheek as she turned to look at him.
"Morning." AJ said softly giving her a warm smile
"Morning" She said smiling back and turning her body to face him. "What time is
it?"
"It's about 9:30. Brian woke everybody up, he wants to go to the beach." He
said.
"Mmmmm….. ok, I'll get up and get ready then." Janis said not moving at all
"You're really tired aren't you?" AJ said, sitting on the bed, and placing her
hair behind her ear
"Yah, I am.." Janis replied
At the same time, Kevin peeked around the corner. He stood there for a minute
smiling to himself, watching AJ make a little progress. Then he interrupted.
"Morning sweets!" Kevin said
Janis turned her head. "Hi…" she answered
"We're gonna go to the store and get some stuff for the beach. We'll be right
back."
"Ok," AJ said
They guys left, leaving the two home alone. Janis was more awake by now but
didn't want to get out of bed. Having AJ so close to her make her nervous, but
she wanted to be closer. Before she could do anything about it, the phone rang.
AJ got up and answered it. The voice on the other end was Nick.
"Kevin said to tell Janis to get ready…. And you too!!"
"All right." AJ said. They quickly hung up and AJ went to tell Janis.
After a while, AJ was done and ready, waiting for Janis. The other guys had
come home and were almost done putting things together. Janis was in the room
when Kevin knocked on the door and came in with AJ and Howie following him
"Hey, this seems familiar…" Kevin said staring at Janis
Janis was in her sufshorts and a bikini top zipping up her bag.
"Awww my baby looks so good… Don't she look good??" Kevin said, putting his arms
around her waist and looked at the guys.
"Excuse me!" Howie said "You're baby?? I don't think so… she's mine!!" Howie
grabbed Janis' arm and pulled her away from Kevin.
"No, no, no, no," AJ said with a slight laugh…"See, this is where you're both
wrong…. She's mine!" AJ pulled Janis into his body and held her tighter than
Kevin. "Aren't you baby." He said looking down at her. Janis looked up and saw
a warm but semi serious smile on his face, and she began to get nervous. She
started to answer, but was interrupted.
"Okay, dudes, everything's ready!" Brian blurted walking in the room with Nick
following.
Kevin and Howie remained as quiet and shocked as they were, after AJ's actions.
"Geese, what happened in here?" Brian asked looking at everyone. They all sat
there staring at him.
"Nothing…let's go!" Kevin said walking out.
Everyone followed him out and into the car. Nick borrowed his mom's van so
they all could go in one car. Janis didn't look at AJ very much on the way
there. She needed to talk to Kevin badly, the hard part was finding the time…
