Janis could feel her eyelids burning. She was dying to get some sleep. All the
salt water, sun, and lack of sleep the past three days was killing her. It was
11:30, and Janis was the first to fall asleep. Kevin carried her to his bed, and
decided to sleep in AJ's room.
Walking back out, he started rubbing his eyes. "I'm sleepin' with you tonight
Bone. Janis needs a night to herself." Kevin said
"Ok, are you going to sleep now?" He asked
"Yah, I'm tired too." Kevin said yawning "Goodnight all!" Kevin said walking
into the room and falling asleep.
Eventually, they all went to bed except AJ. By 12:30, the house was dark and
quiet. AJ sat outside by the pool with his legs in the water. For some reason,
he couldn't sleep. He was also trying to figure out the best time to tell Janis.
Janis quickly sat up and gasped for air. Her head slightly sweaty and her eyes
filled with tears, she moved the blankets off her, and walked to her doorway.
Glancing down AJ and Howie's room she saw nothing. Then looking up the stairs
where Nick and Brian were. (Oh thank God I didn't wake anyone up.) She thought
to herself as she went to the kitchen.
AJ heard the water running and got up to check. He stepped inside the house and
saw Janis getting a drink of water. She put the glass down and rubbed her eyes.
"Janis?" AJ called
Janis jumped at the sound of AJ's voice and turned around. AJ saw tears running
down her face, and suddenly got worried.
"What happened, what's the matter?" AJ asked walking toward her.
Janis hesitated to tell him. "I had a nightmare!" She put her head in her hands
and started crying. AJ put his arms around her, trying to bring some comfort.
"Sweetie, you're shaking… was it really that bad?" He asked grabbing her face
and wiping a tear. Janis nodded her head. "Come, let's go outside." AJ grabbed
her hand and let her outside.
Janis turned and looked back at AJ. "Is the front door locked?" She asked with a
shaky voice.
"Yah"
"Oh…ok…what are you doing still up?" she asked
"Uhh, I've been thinking. Stick your feet in the pool, it's relaxing. I've been
doing it for hours, it's nice!" AJ gave Janis a huge smile
Janis said ok, and they sat at the pool sticking their feet in. "Kinda cold, but
relaxing… I guess…" Janis said
"It worked for me, but this time I don't think it's the water…" AJ said looking
at her. "So, tell me about your dream."
"It's kinda stupid really… it's my greatest fear." She continued "I think I was
waiting for someone…and I saw this shadow coming from behind me." Janis paused
to try to keep from crying, then continued. "This guy, held a knife to my neck,
and he had a gun in the other hand. He was pointing the gun at someone in the
room, but I have no idea who it was. The next think I know, the gun went off and
I woke up." Janis whipped her cheek where a tear had fallen. AJ put his arm
around her to comfort her.
"It's not stupid to have a bad dream… it sucks…especially when it's your
greatest fear. But you have nothing to worry about, because you have 5,
incredibly hot, stylish guys who will do anything to protect you. Not to mention
smart, and really strong."
Janis started laughing as AJ did. "Try not to be too hard on yourself there…"
Janis said sarcastically. She looked at the pool as her laugh turned into a
smile. "Let's go swimming!" She said, looking back at AJ
"What??? Now???"
"Yah, c'mon"
"But we're in our clothes"
"That's ok… I need to get my mind off my dream" Janis said sliding into the
water
"Okay," AJ said following her
They swam for a little while, trying to be quiet. After some time, AJ wanted to
tell Janis how he felt, but he didn't know how to bring it up.
They stopped playing for a couple seconds and stood there staring into each
other's eyes, not saying a word. Janis looked away and turned around. AJ put
his arms around her waist and stopped her. Putting his head next to hers, he
started singing. "I'll never break your heart, I'll never make you cry. I'd
rather die, than live without you, I'll give you all of me honey that no lie."
His sweet singing brought tears to her eyes. She turned around and looked at
him, "I love you're voice." She whispered. AJ put his hand on her face, brushing
her hair away. "And I love you." He leaned in, kissed her softly and held her
tight…
