Woody Allen fans are divided into two groups:those who like "Annie Hall" more than "Manhattan" and those who like "Manhattan" more than "Annie Hall". "Annie Hall" was the first Allen film I really cared much for. I saw it twice when it came out. I saw "Manhattan" three times. "Annie Hall" is a comedic romance. "Manhattan" is a serious movie with a comedic character at its core. The middle-aged man learns a little about life from a teen-ager. Woody even smiles at the end.
