Excellency, dear Dr. Kostovic,

I  was  very  much  surprised  to  learn  about the professional and 
personal situation of my colleague, Dr. Marijan Jost: Long after the
courts found  Dr. Jost's  suspension from  his position as professor
to  be without basis, the  Agricultural  Institute  Krizevci did not
reinstate Dr. Jost to professorship.

With all  courtesy I would  like to request you  urgently to take up
this  matter and to intervene  in  order  to  find a  solution, that
his former status.

I know  Dr. Jost since  about  20 years ago  when we worked together
in  the field  of hybrid  wheat breeding. Dr.Jost was the spirituous
rector and  the  managing organisator  of  the 1st and 2nd  Interna-
tional  Wheat  Restorer  Germplasm  Screening  Nursery   which   was
located  in  several  European  countries  and in the United States.
Since that time I know  Dr. Jost as an  very active  breeding  rese-
archer and  university  teacher  with  broad competence in his field
of activities.  Dr. Jost already  demonstrated two  decades ago  his
talent to motivate people  and  his  capability  to  bring  together
people  for  cooperation  when he organized  the international wheat
germplasm  cooperation.  Now,  only  a  few  years  ago  he  started
bringing  together  a team  of international well  known experts  in
order  to write  a teaching  book  on the subject of plant breeding.
Due to  his  professional  and  personal  situation  at  the  moment
this, for  agriculture  in  Croatia  and  for the reputation of your
country important scientific project, is delayed.

His  activities  made  Dr. Jost  well  known  in  the  international
community of wheat breeders  and  breeding  researches. We  all  are
very  much astonished  to see what has  happened to him. I earnestly
hope, you will be able to bring  things on  the  right way, this  is
to  recover  the good name of  Dr. Jost and to help to reinstall Dr.
Jost into professorship.
