Below are a variety of pictures from where we live in Russia. Our dacha is in a compound of about 15 dachas to the west of Moscow. It takes about 30 minutes to drive between our dacha and downtown Moscow when traffic is good, when traffic is bad, it can take up to 2 hours!

This is a small church near our house. It's about a 5 minute bike ride from our dacha compound. We went inside once and the caretaker told us about the history of the church, in Russian of course!

This is the cemetary next to the church. We thought it was interesting how they put the pictures of the people on the headstones.

This is one of the larger dachas in our compound. I think a Russian banker lives there. You can tell it was one of the later dachas built because it is made of brick.

This is a gazebo in our dacha compound that is hidden in the forest. They used to have parties and get togethers there but it hasn't been used in a long time. Many people in the compound don't even know it is there!

This is the official post office for our town, Illechova. It is right outside of our compound. I've never actually seen anyone go inside!

Picture of the Moscow river from the bridge. This is right outside our compound on the way into Moscow. You can see the river from some of the dachas in the compound, but ours is more in the center. You can also see cars on the other side - people come here on the weekends during the summer to soak up the sun and cool off in the river.

Do I really have to go outside?!
