Knowing you both have families, i trust you will agree that more should be done by the federal government to protect the well-being and growth of our country's children.
Records in Victoria, Ottawa, Washington, at the United Nations, and abroad1 would show that the 1978 work i prepared on behalf of certain Canadians (as has been referred to throughout my work since, and particularly in recent reports) did accurately reflect opinions held by those past authorities.
Thus, indeed--should we fear that we as Canadians can be "exploited" by foreign interests or criminal elements within our own society because of our honesty;2 because we expressed our "concerns" for shortcomings in Canada's applications of democracy and laid groundwork (to the extents of our authorities) to overcome them and to improve the quality of life for our fellow Canadians; and because we suggested ways to help those who are more disadvantaged in the developing world?
I think not.
As referred to in the List of Contents for my June 24, 1988 registered letter to the Most Reverend Desmond Tutu, Thomas Jefferson's analysis of the purpose of government(s) is the right one.
I have included the terms of reference to my January, 1988 statement to the Canadian federal leaders that will be referred to Mikhail Gorbachev.3
Given the fact that i can count off at least 16 members of the New Democratic Party of Canada or Canadian organized labour movement that i've contacted since the 1978 work and requested the expression of views by re that work and i have virtually nothing to show for the efforts, i assume there may yet emerge some posturing by such parties as the public awareness of my "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis" broadens.
Two points come to mind immediately in this regard, sirs.
One, unlike former Reagan Administration official Michael Deaver who was contracted by the Mulroney Government to lobby Washington on behalf of Canadian interests--as the affixation at the bottom of this page evidences...i am Canadian-born.
And two, as i explained to Canadian authorities shortly after my preliminary discussions with the Johannesburg Anglican Christian Diocese, Desmond Tutu's staff there, likely recalling my 1978 communications with the 1984 Nobel Peace Laureate, kept calling me "Mr. Wong of UNICEF."4
Some of my communications with international interests in and beyond 1978 were on the basis of the SENIOR ADVISER TO THE YEAR OF THE CHILD authority so that we could prevent misunderstanding and suspicion by such interests that their "concerns" would not be respected in the overall work i prepared.5
I trust you understand why i don't think it's appropriate to disclose any more document copies to the Canadian federal political authorities until they request copies in written forms addressed to me on the basis of both authorities invested in my name since 1978.
As i recall the 1978 "legal agreement(s)" re those authorities and my "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis," i am to be respected as "a 'qualified' nuclear disarmament expert" representing U.S. and Western interests.
Both Bill Bennett and Dave Barrett knew this...as did Mssrs. Trudeau, Basford, MacEachen, Turner, Clark, Broadbent, and Waddell since 1978.
