It occurred to me to ask Premier Vander Zalm to forward this to you on the date i prepared my statement to him, December 29, 1987--while i note press reports that Lech Walesa is disturbed the Polish Government's decision to shorten the sentences of the four men who murdered the Reverend Jerzy Popieluszko.
Sir, i have asked the Premier to also give you copies of the documents i am now giving him copies of.
I don't know whether you would want them because they are soon bound to cause a lot of publicity, and your previous correspondence to me have indicated you prefer to choose yourself what public issues you associate yourself with.
But your five previous letters to me since i returned to British Columbia are themselves an issue in "(my) present situation."
When i made the first of the preliminary submissions to the "Vancouver Centennial Peace Festival" participants and included copies of correspondence i've received in the course of doing the "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis" with them, as you know i excluded copies of any of the letters i received from the Diocese of Victoria--despite the fact you were a participant yourself and you of the group overall probably had a better perspective on my work in and particularly beyond the first of it in 1978.
Also an issue may be the fact that while i attached a copy of the July 30, 1984 Globe and Mail article, "The hunger that gnaws at Africa", to my July 2, 1985 statement to "The Arab League" to underline to them that i had expressed my "concerns" for the starving people in Africa before "Band-Aid" and July, 1985's "Live Aid",1 i didn't cite specifically to whom i made the submission in August, 1984, though we realize a copy of this article was included in my August 24, 1984 submission to you.
Nor in the summary and accompanying terms of reference about my "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis" now being included in my Christmas, 1987 registered letters to PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA Pieter W. Botha and Archbishop of Capetown Desmond Tutu did i include copies of any of your letters to me or did i refer to you by name though it would have been relevant in providing an honest summary of the facts about my work.
Should the Premier now decide not to forward to you copies of my statements to the South African leaders or should you decline them presently, i have to advise you that i still haven't completed all of the original, promised document copy submissions to the peace festival participants. And as i personally gave you one of them on April 25, 1986 during the festival, you would know if you read its contents that what inspired me to make submissions to the festival participants was my consideration of the importance of my two April 2, 1986 telephone discussions with Desmond Tutu.

Wilson, PRESIDENT OF "THE WORLD COUNCIL OF CHURCHES", may be able to help me in my efforts in future to secure freedom for the remaining hostages in Lebanon because the W.C.C. does maintain respectful relations with leaders of the Islamic faith.
