Candle Light Vigil for Roisin

Protest for Roisin Members of the Greater Pittsburgh Irish Northern Aid Unit were joined by other concerned Irish Americans from the Pittsburgh area in a candlelight vigil and demonstration protesting the wrongful incarceration of Roisin McAliskey and her infant daughter Loinnir. Roisin was arrested and held in a British prison from November 1996 until March 1998. Candlelight Vigil Participants in the Roisin McAliskey candlelight vigil and protest marched to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Building in downtown Pittsburgh. This local newspaper was presented with a petition requesting for not only more coverage of the events in Northern Ireland and Ireland, but an unbiased report of those events.
