WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT

Washington County is located in the northeastern corner of the state of Colorado. The county covers 2500 square miles and has a population of 5000. The primary industries in Washington County are agriculture, cattle and oil and gas production.

The Washington County Sheriffs Department Explorer Post #27 is a program designed for those who wish to persue a career in law enforcement. Co-sponsored by the Washington County Sheriffs office and the Boy Scouts of America, it permits interested and qualified young people to observe and participate in the functions of the Sheriffs Office.
