2000 Grant Revenue

The Taylor County Sheriff's Department was a co-recipient of an $80,000 grant which was awarded to ten counties in the Northwest Wisconsin Sheriff's Group. This money was used to implement a regional crime information system. While no actual dollars came into Taylor County, the information system is beginning to prove itself a valuable tool for law enforcement operations.

The following grants were applied for during 2000 and have potential future revenue impact on our department:

Body Armor Grant - $ 2,500
Technology Grant - $20,000
Youth Alcohol Grant - $ 3,000
Northwest Sheriff's Equipment Grant - $ 1,000
Video Arraignment Grant - $58,000
Federal Technology Transfer Program - $27,000

TOTAL = $111,500

We are also exploring the possibility of taking advantage of a $125,000 "COPS in Schools" grant.
