Queenslanders for Constitutional Monarchy

George William Helon, Esq. J.P.(Qual.) is an Australian Citizen of Polish Descent; born Wieslaw George (Jerzy) Helon in Bridgenorth, England in 1965, George arrived in Australia with his parents in April of 1970.

Some falsely claim that Migrants to Australia want a Republic - let me assure you - they are wrong!

Some Australian have been openly calling for the creation of an Australian Republic, but what they fail to realise is that if Australia was already a Republic - in the true European sense - they wouldn't have that right of 'Freedom of Speech' (as is currently guaranteed to them by virtue of the Australian Constitution).

Migrants to Australia know what it's like to live in a Republic.

In a Republic, to even contemplate engaging in what is defined under the Provisions of Sections 24A and B of the Commonwealth Crimes Act 1914, as Seditious Intention and Seditious Enterprise, those calling for change in the form of Our Current System of Government, would find themselves procrastinating in jail for three years.

Republics more often then not have proven themselves to be Dictatorships in disguise - first it's all power to the people; rule by factions; the rule of leading families.

Republics are often characterised by an Inconsistency of Rule.

In a Republic, a President Rules only as long as he/she stays in power, so the bottom line is that a President only really represents those who voted hime/her into Office.

And as has been proven time and time again, Presidents soon become Morally Corrupt; they accept Bribes, they Buy Votes and Officials to ensure their continuity of Office.

In essence, a Republic serves the Governing - It splits Society.

So how can Australians respect and trust a President who has been elected only by some of them?

As concerned Australian Citizens, We Monarchists see that we must do all that we can for Our Children and Future Generations to preserve and ensure the continuity of those Freedoms and Rights that two Generations of Diggers fought, and gave their lives for.

It is imperative that we Defend Our Constitutional Monarchy and Present Form of Government.

We must ensure the safeguarding of the Queen at all times and Our Head-of-State, the Governor-General.

Politically neutral, the Governor-General is the Commander-in-Chief of Our Armed Forces and, like Our Queen, Her Most Gracious Majesty, he is the focus of their Loyalty.

In the Press and in the News we have all seen and heard what happens when Presidents have been in control of the Armed Forces of their Republics - Civil War and Bloodshed.

Whether You're Young, Old, a Liberal or a Labour Supporter, a Catholic, Muslim, or a Jew, the Monarchy serves us ALL - It is not aligned to a particular group and it does not discriminate.

In my ancestral home of Poland today, as in many other former Eastern European Countries, there have been calls for the Restoration of Former Monarchies and Heads of State after almost 70 years of the Communist and Socialist Rule of Presidents and Dictators.

On discussing the New Constitution of the Polish Republic in Warsaw on November 23, 1996, my Polish Counterpart and President of Klub Zachowawczo-Monarchistyczny, Mr Artur Gorski, headed a Panel of Prominent Social Leaders to discuss the fundamental values on which the Polish Constitution should be based.

With the Declaration that was Issued at the Conclusion of the Proceedings it was Stated that:

In a Constitutional Monarchy, the Crown represents the Spiritual aspect of the State and retains the Power of Intervention if all else fails and where-as the Senate upholds continuity, the House of Representatives is a place where new ideas are borne to cope with the changing conditions of a Society and its People.

In a Constitutional Monarchial form of Government we are guaranteed certain Rights, Freedom, Honour and Dignity.

Australia's Present Constitution is the Framework of Government under which this Country has existed for almost a Century; 'so why change it?'

I am proud to have been endorsed a 'Monarchist' Candidate for the upcoming Constitutional Convention and I am honoured to be representing both the Queenslanders for Constitutional Monarchy Association (Inc.) and the Australian Monarchist League of which I am a Life Member.
