Friends 15
January 27, 1999 - In the fourth game of the season, the
Potomac 7th grade basketball team beat Sidwell Friends 37-15 at Potomac's Chester Gym. |
The Panthers got off to another fast start. Potomac came
out in a man to man defense that caused all kinds of problems for Sidwell Friends.
The Panthers stripped the ball on several occasions and passed the ball down court
for easy lay-ups. The first quarter ended up being the highest point production of
the game with Potomac leading 15-7. In the second quarter, the Panthers went to a
zone defense that resulted in the game slowing down quite a bite from the first quarter.
Both teams scored only two points each as shots from the outside just didn't go
down. Potomac led 17-9 at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Panthers went to a full court press that created plenty of steals and scoring opportunities. Potomac extended their lead to 14 points, going up 27-13 after three quarters. followed by Chris McNerney with 8 points. David Brady, Pete Dalla, Michael Diamond,
and Drew Peterson all had 4 points each. Brent Locey and Chris McNerney each

each. |
