The Bay Express at about 11:30 am on Saturday 14 July 2001, is shown here picking its way through the Ormondville station yard (during an ORPG track and hut maintenance working bee!), en route from Wellington to Napier.

The lower photo shows it leaving the station yard, crossing the Norsewood-Ormondville Road and then heading down to the Ormondville Viaduct. The Settlers Arms Hotel is on the right.
