What do I Like?
The Birthday
Ok, on Wednesday, September 12, 1984, my mother gave birth to her second child
(and wanted a refund..hehe, no, just kidding!). The doctor went in to my dad and said
"Congrats, you have two beautiful twin daughters then left the room, leaving dad
dumb-founded. (He was glad when he relized there's only one of me! *laughs*)
The Naming
My mom wanted to call me Kristal, but dad wouldn't hear of
it. He said kids would tease me because of my last name, which would make it sound like...
Umm, I won't say my last name, but let's pretend it is Stone. Dad said people would
tease him because of crystal stones. Got it? Yeah, its neat, isn't it? My friends I've
told thought that was pretty cool, too.
In a way, I wish my name had been Kristal (because of the crystal stone deal), but
I am also so happy it isn't, because Kristal is certainly an over-used name!!
So, I ended up with Krista. I wish my name had been spelled Krysta or Chrysta or
something like that instead, because it seems more magical, more mysterious, and, well,
yeah, I guess you can say more romantic. Don't you think so?
I guess you don't want to know about the baby years, so I won't waste my time on
it! Umm, ahh, I'm not to good at talking about myself, so bear with me!
I Live In...
I live in north Florida, USA, only like 30 minutes from Georgia.
School
All right, I'm 18 years old and in the 12th grade. How good am I in
school? I'm pretty much a straight A (the highest) student, but I make B's all the time in Math. =)
Thats still good and I can't complain except for the fact I know I could've done
better and just because I don't like math doesn't mean I should not work hard at it.
As you've probably figured out, my least favorite class is Math (Especially Algebra!)
my absolute favorite is a toss up between English and Band!
Why I don't like Math ~ Well, my 10th grade year was the first I'd ever disliked a subject
(except Physical Education) ever! Yes, I love school, folks! I don't like math because:
1) It leaves nothing to the imagination! I mean, I like things that are forever
changing and that aren't always so firm. Math is like, well, FIRM!
2) The teacher explains the same thing for 2 days, and repeating herself at least 3 times
each day.
3) We have to write out every tiny thing! Even if we understand it! And we've "learned"
equations about 5 differnt times (one with adding, one with subtracting, multiplying,
dividing, and frations) and it never changes!
Ok, well, enuogh complaining! I do have to say my teachers are usually very nice.
My favorite subject is either English, Band, or American History. Why?
*grins* Why? English. I love words! I love to write stories and books.
And I'm a bookworm. A reading freak. Needless to say, English is so fun for
me. I love the creative writing, learning about new things, and reading new books.
Not to mention the teacher lets me read in there ALL the time!!
Why Band? I play the trumpet and its such wonderful fun! Its a great
test! If you've never been moved my instrumental music or played an
instrument, you could never understand!!! Writing about music is like...
like trying to explain colors to someone who had never seen them!
And as for American History (8th Grade and 11th Grade)...That sort of goes with English and Math.
History is like a whole big story and its ever-changing with new discoveries.
All the wars bother me, the slavery, and the injustice to the native Americans,
but its still like a big story and its just sssooo awesome! And I'm blessed
with the best teacher! He's been in almost every police force you can think of,
and he'll talk to you about everyday life and talk about his police-days and
everything! That's two terrific things!!
