Sometimes, my mommy lets me help her cook. We have lots of fun working together. Just so you can have fun in the kitchen too, here are some of my favorite recipes. They're really yummy!
Lazy Day Peanut Butter Fudge
This is a great tasting recipe. And you don’t even have to cook it!
1- 18 oz. jar peanut butter (creamy or crunchy, your choice)
1 jar ready made vanilla frosting
Mix ingredients thoroughly. Spread evenly in a greased pan. Chill for an hour. Makes 3 dozen squares. The fudge can also be dipped in melted chocolate for an even more delicious treat!
Oatmeal Chip Cookies
Mommy mixed together two of my favorite cookies. Oatmeal & chocolate chip!
1 cup uncooked quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup shortening (Mommy uses the stick kind, because it’s less messy)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat all ingredients except walnuts and chocolate chips until well mixed, occasionally scraping bowl. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1-inch apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove cookies from cookie sheet immediately and cool on wire racks.
Makes 3 dozen
