Interested players are invited to send in their PC's reaction to the following scene. Just a short paragraph or two will do. Detail is important. Follow my lead here and you might be invited to play.
For three days the adventurers have trailed the band
of marauders across the plains of the Western Heartlands,
from Elturel to Baldur's Gate. Hurn, the Centaur guide,
nervously flicks his tail back and forth. "Something is wrong
here," he mumbles, more to himself than to the party. He
gestures palm down for the party to pause. Cautiously, he
nocks his bow, and faces the wind. "THERE!" he shouts,
pointing to an archer in the trees. "Ambush!
All you have to do now is send me a paragraph or two describing your PC's reaction to this. Start your post with your characters name in ALL CAPS. Then, type in your actions/reactions. Next, if you have to say something Out Of Character, type in OOC: and say what you need to. Finally, end your post with EOM (end of message).
Example:
GRAYSON
The wizard strokes his beard and ponders the centaurs caution. "What!?!" he cries as the centaur calls 'ambush'. He instinctively reaches into the folds of his robe, searching for a spell component. He drops to the ground and rolls for cover, wracking his brain for the right spell to cast. He pauses for a moment, waiting for his companions to assume a defensive position, then he stands and recites; "Ng wahii nu todo, lo ghann dja'kee". From air I summon the winds!
OOC: Grayson is planning to cast Gust of Wind. The material component he searched for is a legume seed.
