Cormyr is one of the handful of proper nations in the North. It straddles the land in the northeast reagion of the Sea of Fallen Stars between the Lake of Dragons and Aunaroch. Also known as the Land of the Purple Dragon, Cormyr's banner is the purple dragon on a stark white field.
Cormyr is a rich Kingdom; its southern, eastern, and northwestern areas have many farms, offering abundant yield for trade. The three major cities of Cormyr are Suzail, Marsember, and Arabel, and Cormyrean patrols are always assigned to oversee the travel of caravans from port-city overland, as well as inform travellers of Cormyrean customs and laws.
Cormyr is strategically located on overland trade routes from the cities of Moonsea to the northeast, the Dalelands to the east, the ports of Suzail and Marsember on the Inner Sea, and the rich city-states of the Sword Coast.
Cormyr is a hereditary Monarchy currently ruled my King Azoun IV, the regal, and now middle-aged, son of famed warrior king Rhigaerd II. King Azoun rules from a palace in Suzail. Azoun takes council from the Royal Mage, Vangerdahast, the most powerful Wizard in all Cormyr.
