Sailormoon Alternaverse

Chapter 3:

Save the day Jae.

Jae looked down at the silver cat in amazement.   "Tuxedo Moon? Like Masked R? Have you lost your mind? Have I lost my mind? I’m talking to a cat!"

"Listen to me Jae, you have to believe me, and you have to do as I say. There are evil forces attacking the city, and only you can stop them."

"Lecture me some other time cat, I’m going home to ride my bike."

"Well then why have you come the opposite way from it Jae?"

        "How did you know?"

"Because you were destined to fight the evil of the Negaverse Jae."

"The Negaverse? Have you gone batty cat?"

"Listen to me," the cat circled four times at a fast speed and a bracelet appeared on the ground. "Put this on your wrist and shout Moon Sword!"

Jae shrugged and put the bracelet on his wrist. He said the words, and he blinked his eyes, because a blinding silver light erupted from the bracelet and spread up his arm and over his body. An armored forearm plate swept up to his elbow, from his shoulders sprouted two large plates and a breast plate of armor swept down his chest. A pair of military or some other type of pants covered his lower body and a pair of black boots was on his feet. The sword was in his hand and a silver crescent mark appeared on the side of his face that his dark bangs fell down. The end of his bangs touched his mark, and he felt strangely at ease in this look.

He jumped. "Whoa! What happened to me?"

"I told you, you are Tuxedo Moon, champion of the moon kingdom and enemy of the Negaverse!"

"Whatever. MOON SWORD!" He cried, thrusting his wrist into the air and twisting it so the face of the bracelet is away from him and the other dropped at his side. The armor melts away, and he stands in a white tuxedo and hat with a black cape and a silver underside, a cane, and his sword at his belt. Then there was a flash and the tuxedo was turned to black.

"Hold on cat, what makes you think I’m going to fight anybody? I’m just a teenager. A normal teenager whose biggest problem is finding a date for Saturday night."

"But you have to, it is your destiny."

"Destiny? My only destiny is to graduate from college."

"And if you don’t there won’t be any college to go to, because everyone will be slaves of the Negaverse."

"Alright then cat, we’ve got a deal, you teach me how to fight the Negaverse, and I’ll protect the Moon Kingdom or whatever, just so long as it doesn’t interfere with my social life."

"Let’s go then." The cat offers up a paw, and then leaps up his arm onto his shoulder. "On to the television station."

"How are we going to get in looking like this? There are police outside, look."

"Those aren’t policemen, they’re from the Negaverse."

"Stop getting that tone. Can I fly?"

        "No."

"Why not? Masked R can fly."

        "You’re not Masked R. You’re Tuxedo Moon."

"Alright, we are going to have to take the high way."

        "The highway?"

"Up and over cat. Do you have a name?"

        "Yes, it’s Ciel."

        "Isn’t that…"

"Spanish, no. It is actually native Moon for heavens."

"Spanish." He says dropping to a wall opposite the building. "Hold on tight now, here we go." He launches into the air and soars across the gap, then he tucks his body and curves towards it, reaching a hand out and grabbing the fire escape, and lowering himself to the next landing.

Ciel looks hairied. He sits clinging into the tuxedo jacket tightly with his claws. "Next time you decide to do that, warn me of what you’ll be doing."

"Sure, now help me find a way in."

They get up to the roof and the cat searches around. He looks out over the city, his city. That is now effectively under his protection as Tuxedo Moon. He sighs as the cat calls him over.

"I do believe the air vent will do nicely."

"Why not just try the door?"

"Uh, right." A sweat drop grows on the cat’s head as he follows the boy over. He clicks the door open. "I don’t like this."

"Relax Ciel, it’s cool." They go down the stairs and hide behind a door. No one bothers to look at them and he slips around to the back of a recording stage. Ciel gasps as they see a huge orb glowing over the top of it.

The audience is fast asleep on each other, and Jae can see Mark in the front row. Mary is on stage, and he wishes he hadn’t turned down her offer to come and see the show. He could’ve saved Mark. "What is it sucking in?"

"That’s the energy being collected, you have to smash that orb and return the energy to the people."

        "With what?"

"Use your cane, will it to lengthen and…well that works too."

Jae dug into his pocket and found some small stars. He took three between his fingers and hefted them up at the orb, which shattered instantly and the people in the audience woke up. One man in a director’s chair looked up and the lights cut off. The audience fell back asleep, but not because of lack of energy, they all fainted.

Mary and the other people on stage turn with vicious red glowing eyes. They all turn to where Jae is standing and begin to ambush him, along with the stagehands. Jae backs into a wall. "What now Ciel?" He asks, dodging Mary’s thrust at his throat.

"Run for it, you don’t want to hurt these innocent people." Jae nods and vaults over the small mob, running at the stage.

An evil figure rises, with two large horns and long curly green hair and a sinister look on its face. "I don’t know who you are, boy, but you’ll wish you never messed with our plan to collect the energy of these puny mortals!" The crowd sways and falls to the floor, and the evil being grew stronger. "AH, thank you LORD BERYL!"

"Lord Beryl? You’re more whacked out than the cat!"

        "CAT?!"

The being lunges straight for Jae and he leaps to the side, rolling into where Ciel is hiding. "Well, what now, oh mighty cat?"

"Raise your cane and your sword, cross them, and spin them together, it will form a lance, raise the lance, point it at that Nega monster and say "Moon Lance Magic" then throw the lance at it, and it’ll do the rest."

Jae nods and stands up. He braces himself for an impact and receives none. He spins the cane and lance as he was told and they fall from his hands, unconnected. "What now?"

"Duck and cover, fire in the hole!" The cat screams.

A blast lands in front of him, and he does a backhand spring, landing on his head.

"I thought you knew what you were doing!"

        "I am no gymnast!"

        "Watch it!" The cat cried.

A blast was aimed right at him. Jae tried to move, but everything went into slow motion. Just before the blast hit his skin, Jae felt something slide in front of him and he could feel it pushing back the blast of the evil Nega-monster.

        "Cat?" He asked.

A woman’s voice says, "No. Tuxedo Moon, I’m not a cat." She pulls him away as the shield goes skittering across the floor and launching away from where she stands as the monster recovers.

        "Where are you?"

"I am over here, catch." She says, tossing him his cane and sword. "Put an end to this Negaverse scum."

He spins the two things, and they connect. He stands behind the shield and launches himself to the side, tossing the lance at the monster as he sails into the girl and pulls her behind his cape.

"Monster from the Negaverse, I banish you, in the name of the Moon." He says as the lance connects. "MOON LANCE MAGIC!"

The Negabeast screeches, and erupts into a flame of electricity. "Horndrone!" It screams as its energy expires.

The girl crosses her arms before the shield and it shrinks and disappears into her bracelets. She turns and vaults to a beam in the rafters, and looks down at him. "Others will test you, don’t worry Tuxedo Moon, I’ll always be here to help you out."

"Who are you?" He asks looking up at the beautiful girl.

"Earth Star." After saying that, she turns and disappears into the darkness of the rafters.

He looks up at where she just stood. "What a total babe."

"Great job Tuxedo Moon. I’m really impressed at you, your first job and look at it."

        "You scare me sometimes Ciel."

"We only just met. Besides, we’d better get out of here before…"

The girls from the mob wake up and all start crowding around him. "Who are you? What happened?"

"I am, am, Tuxedo Moon." He says in a deep voice. "Is everyone alright?" He asks in his normal semi-deep voice.

        "We’re all fine."

"Then I must be going. Goodbye." Ciel climbs silently up his cape and he turns and makes a run out the front door and down the street, changing into his normal clothes.

        "What about you Ciel?"

"I’m your guardian, I must stay with you."

"I hope mom’s not allergic to cats."

"She won’t be." Ciel says, climbing back onto his shoulder.

        "Did I really do well?"

"Yes you did, but I wonder who this Earth Star person is. She seems to like you or want to protect you for some reason…"

"Yeah." He looks up at the stars and sees her face in them. ‘She is special.’

"Jae, are you listening to me?"

        "Not really Ciel."

"Well have your moment then, but then you’ve got to listen up, Lord Beryl sounds like he’s a general of the Negaverse, so you’ve got a lot of work ahead of you. I hope you’re up to it."

"I will be Ciel, don’t worry, as long as Star is there, I can face anything."

"Oh great and gracious King Serene."
