Mary Beth's Bean Bag World |
January 2000 |
There is a 'Millennium Mania' article which showcases all of the different Millennium themed bean bags. Of course Mystic is mentioned with a small write up and picture. In the 'Ask Mary Beth' section there is a question about how to join the Puffkins Collectors' Club. Mary Beth answered with how to join along with all of the membership perks. There is a pullout, two-sided poster, one side is 'Happy New Millennium' and the other is 'Happy New Year 2000'. On the 'Happy New Year' side, Patches is scene celebrating with many other bean bag characters. There is a 3 page article plus a Puffkins 2000 Family Tree pull-out calendar that is wonderful. The calendar has all of the Puffkins' birthdays marked plus full color pictures of the Puffkins as well as cute graphics. The article is titled 'Behind The Scenes At SWIBCO' and tells about how Puffkins are made. This takes you step by step from idea to the Puffkins ready for new homes. There is even a picture of Jangles being assembled and several pictures taken from inside SWIBCO. On the 'Top 5 Most Wanted Puffkins' list, there is a mistake as Snowball is listed as #1 but he is referred to as a falcon! Ooops! There is also the monthly price guide for those of you interested in secondary market prices. This is a Puffkin packed issue!

Bean
Mania |
November 1999 |
The most exciting thing in the new issue of Bean Mania is the results of the "Design a Puffkin Contest"! There were so many excellent entries, they extended the amount of prizes given out. The Grand Prize winners' as well as the second place winners' drawings are shown in color for everyone to admire. The third place winner names are listed. (I wish they had told what designs the third places winners had.) The pictures and poems shown are very cute! Congratulations to all of the winners. Read more about the contest here. There is a recap of some Puffkin information on page 72. They discuss variations on Lily, Armour, Patriot, and Mystic. They also tell about the newest Limited Edition styles for Halloween and Christmas. There is a little bit about the SWIBCO Plush Collection and also a hint about new Puffkins and a retirement coming this fall.
