Tag Generations
1st Generation Tags: Red heart with dark purple border, all have the same UPC number (44046 01362) regardless of the style of Puffkin. Inside of the tag is ©Swibco Lisle, IL instead of the Swibco website address. Found on the first two batches of Puffkins released.

2nd Generation Tags: Red heart with dark purple border, different UPC numbers on the back depending on the style of Puffkin. A slight difference within this tag generation is the inclusion or exclusion of the Swibco website address www.swibco.com on the inside of the tag. Some tags have ©Swibco Lisle, IL instead of the site address. Found on the first 3 batches of Puffkins through the Dino Trio.

3rd generation tags: Red heart with light purple/lavender border, better quality printing and card stock. Same printed information as the 2nd generation tags. Starting with the New Years '99 releases Swibco added a trademark symbol (TM) after the name of each Puffkin. As far as we can tell all tags made after that time have the TM symbol after the Puffkin's name.

4th generation tags: Effective November 1, 1999. Swing tag features the new double heart logo on a lavender shield style tag. Along with the style changes, there are a couple differences in the inside of the tag: A TM symbol is noted after the Puffkins' name on the right side of the tag; and both website addresses (www.swibco.com and www.puffkins.com) are listed on the left side.
