Hiyas all! Welcome to my Escaflowne website! Tenkuu no Escaflowne (Escaflowne of the Heavens) is a 26 episode TV series that ran from April 2, 1996 to September 24, 1996 in Japan. The Movie was just released this summer in Japan and was shown at several North American Anime Cons. The English title is The Vision of Escaflowne. A complete commercial boxset sub has been released by AnimeVillage. The bilingual DVD started release in October 2000. A dub VHS, both uncut and the the TV-edited version are also scheduled to be released. Bandai has recently bumped up their release schedule, and all the new tapes should be out by Summer 2001.
My page is based on my viewing of the Japanese language version with English subtitles. I've only watched a few episodes of the uncut dub from my DVD, and only a few of the cut FOX kids version. If you're looking for info on those, I really can't help you.

The dub aired on Fox Kids starting Sat. August 19th. However, they skipped the first episode - there were claims that they didn't want to show any of the high-school girl stuff. They also claimed that the first episode moved too slowly - they seem to think that little kids today lose interest if there isn't action constantly bombarding them. *sigh* When I was younger kids could take that kind of stuff - I guess the cartoon industry has changed quickly in 10 years...

The dub in the US stopped airing somwhere around Japanese episode 10 or 11 (I stopped watching it, so I'm not sure). YTV in Canada supposedly has all 23/26 episodes (they're not sure how many it will come to once the cutting is done) and will be showing all the episodes.

Soon this page will be getting a better layout and the sections will be getting some content. I don't plan on making a spoiler-free page, so don't continue too far once things are up if you're afraid of being spoiled:o) I'm busy working on some other pages and getting ready to go back to school, but I do have this page planned out - I just need to find the time to do everything!
