as*trol*o*gy - n. 1. orig., primitive astronomy 2. a pseudoscience claiming to foretell the future by studying the supposed influence of the relative positions of the moon, sun, and stars on human affairs
I've always been interested in Astrology. For a while I guess I was pretty obssesed with it;) Now, I'm fine with reading my horoscope every now and then and in my spare time maybe reading a book on it or something. Well, one summer night I decided to pop online and look around. So I'm at Yahoo and I see the word Astronomy which makes me think of Astrology. I type in the word and hit search....and that's what brought this page here:o) I visited http://www.astrology-numerology.com. There, they pointed me out to a free star chart thingie and gave me ways to read it! Sooo...for your viewing pleasure - here is the results of my web surfing - my free natal chart reading(along with comments in parenthesis on how accurate I think these are)!

THE INNER YOU
In this section of the reading we'll look at the the Sun, the Moon, and each of the planets. As each body is introduced, a brief paragraph will tell the area of life and living most affected by the planet. These planet placements begin to paint the astrological picture of the inner you.
The SUN
The chart reading will begin with the Sun as the primary focus of astrology. The Sun's position in the zodiac is very important, and most agree it deserves first consideration. It's the core of the individual; the overriding nature and will. This is the influence that describes the "you" that is trying to be in this lifetime. This is your "awake" side, your consciousness and outer-directed individuality. Thus, the Sun is the most important single indicator, fueling the total personality. The nature of your Sun sign is your true colors that you display to world day in and day out.
Cancer
The Sun is in this fourth sign of the zodiac from 22 June until 22 July each year. The symbol for Cancer is the Crab, with its protective shell. People with this Sun sign are sometimes also called "Moon Children," because the Moon is the ruler of the sign.
In Cancer the Sun is receptive and moody. You are a very sensitive person who is easily influenced by your environment. You are likely to be exceedingly protective of your feelings, as well as the feelings of those to whom you are close. Emotions are strong in your nature. You approach life with many feelings and a strong nurturing tendency. Your moods are varied and changeable. They are synchronized to the Moon, flowing in and out like the tide. You are acutely aware of the atmosphere of feelings surrounding you. You're skeptical and distrustful of people. It's not what they say, but simply the way they say it and the way you interpret their meaning.
(Wow...it's pretty close so far - of course, we've got a long ways to go:o) Feelings usually are pretty influencial in me...although I thought my mood swings were PMS...and I don't *think* I'm that great at telling what others feelings are...although I've never eally paid attention. And the skeptical and distrustful part is pretty much right)
You need to tell your deepest thoughts. When those around you are not receptive, you can become quite difficult to reach. The "crabby" part of Cancer shows up once in awhile, as well. When these moods are in control of your behavior, you can snap someone's head off for no reason at all. People you live around have to learn that you are not really angry with them. This is just the way Moon children are sometimes. By nature you are quiet and somewhat reserved, frequently retreating or putting up a protective barrier when you feel in any way threatened.
(Yup:o) That'd be me)
You are attuned to the past. You tend to cling to reminders and memorabilia of your family and of earlier times. Many Cancers are attracted to collecting antiques. You may be one of those people who collects just about everything. It's hard for you to part with something when there may be a chance need some rainy day, no matter how remote that chance may be. Cancers are the original "pack-rats."
(Ha! Now I can use this info when my parents say I should clean out all the stuff in my room;) Actually, I could put all the stuff into scrapbooks someday...I think that'll be my next project)
You place much importance on the home and family. Your family or your "family of friends" is the center of your life. They provide you your sense of security and belonging. Your role in this environment is the source of your self-esteem and often overshadow your sense of individuality. It's hard to break away from your early upbringing and depart from the family traditions you have experienced. Cancer is the sign of motherhood. In both sexes, it produces a parenting instinct that is caring, protective, and indulging. Even unmarried Cancers adopt friends, co-workers, and neighbors in an extended family situation.
(How true!)
Hardworking and dedicated, you make an excellent employee. You are loyal and respect authority. This makes you supportive and protective of the boss and rarely questioning company policy. You do find it very difficult to handle change and disruption. If you are the boss, you like your employees to be dedicated as you are. Unfortunately, sometimes you may surround yourself with "yes men" who simply reinforce your decisions. You don't take chances or risk sweeping change.
(Well...I dunno about this part - I really haven't workedmuch before:o) Although I have noticed that in class whenever I'm doing group projects I like to know that everyone else will put in equal time and effort...of course, maybe its just cuz if they don't I'm usually way too nice and end up doing their work for em)
Money is very important to you. Not for what it will buy or for the freedom it provides, but for the sense of security it provides. No matter what else is to be said of Cancer, security and having the protective shell in place, is overriding.
The MOON
The Moon's position in your chart is almost as important as the Sun, but the influence is different. The moon is your emotional life. It relates to immediate emotional responses. It's those reactions instilled by conditioning; the memory and learned habit patterns. The influence of the Moon is more subtle, for it relates to personality beneath the surface; your feelings and your subconscious self. It shows how you react to those around you based on the sum of your conditioned viewpoint and unguarded self-projection. Often, the Moon's place in the chart shows a considerably different side of the nature, a side fostered by emotions, upbringing, and habit patterns that have developed over time
Libra
A Libra Moon gives a sense of understanding, tolerance, and gentleness. You are ambitious, but at the same time, so very dependent on others. The symbol of Libra is the scales, signifying the innate symmetry the influence provides. This is the position of the diplomat, broad-minded and open, social, and friendly.
The adaptability of this Moon sign is considerable; you don't like disputes and disorder, and you do what you can to maintain a well-oiled social and business life. Balance, harmony and domestic tranquility are very important to you. Even-tempered, well-mannered and congenial, you display all those attributes that assures many friends and an active social life. You are truly a thoughtful and good-natured person who goes out of the way to be nice to people. You are very fond of people and don't enjoy being alone for very long. You have a need to have everyone like you, and your emotional well-being depends on the approval others. Thus, you are over-anxious to please. This is the sign of the consummate peacemaker and diplomat.
(That sounds pretty much right - except for the active social life part. Iguess I'd like one, but I'm fine without one...maybe that's Fed's fault...visit my Federation Page and learn about my other life:o) I guess I have a pretty active social lifethere to make up for my missing RL one)
Your nature is affectionate and easily swayed, often exhibiting a tendency towards indolence. Sometimes you tend to have too much reliance on others and you may delay making important decisions. At many times, you seem to be facing life's problems and decisions on more or less a trial and error basis. Too willing to compromise, you frequently allow others to take advantage of you. You freely sacrifice your own wishes for someone else's. It is very hard for you to be assertive and stand up for yourself. Since you don't like conflict situations, you may refrain from expressing the dissatisfactions you have in your relationships, often waiting until it is too late to rectify the situation.
(geee...that's right on the button... I keep telling myself I've got to learn how to say no;) )
Relationships are important to your and you don't like being alone. A stable partner, you tend to settle with one special person rather than playing the field. Devoted and faithful, you spend a great deal of your time catering to the needs and desires of your mate. Stability rather than passion or excitement is your goal in a partner. It is usually thought that Libra love affairs are of the head rather than the heart. Concern with what others think and doing what is correct makes you rather conventional and conservative in all your romantic and social activities.
You are refined and you have a definite love of the refined; art, music, etc. You may have some natural artistic or musical talent. At the very least you appreciate all the finer things in life and you are apt to be a patron of the arts if your means permit.
(*some* natual artistic or musical talent, I suppose...of course its not like I'm the best at it inthe world:o) )
You are a good planner, but often it is hard for you to get your plans into action and to see them through to completion. The Libra mind is more contemplative, building great ideas, but sometimes failing carry them out. Decisiveness is not usually a strong quality with Moon in Libra; the mind may be building great ideas, but you are not always ready to act on them. Decision-making can be tough, because you can usually see both sides of every issue. For you, judgment is more important than execution.
(Hmmm...could that be why I end up procrastinating on projects often?)
The SUN and the MOON sign COMBINED
Cancer/Libra
The combination of your Cancer Sun and Libra Moon creates a curious blending of independence and dependence, an entwined network of contradictions. The Cancer side of you wants to withdraw and become emotional; the Libra reaches and can remain detached and analytical. There is a constant pull between sheer objectivity and intense emotionalism. You want, and in fact need, companionship. Nonetheless, it's hard for you to give much of yourself, being sensitive and a trifle introverted. You do seem to absorb other people with a charm that makes them readily respond to you. Socially, you are always a winner, but more so in a large gathering than in twosomes or small groups.(Actually, I've always felt more comfortable in small groups myself...) In many ways, you are a romantic. You like to have people around you, and you like to receive your fair share of attention and notice for what you do. Yet you may have some difficulty responding in kind. There is a strong self-protective mechanism between you and others, and you seem to keep everyone at arms length with a certain suspicion and analytical cleverness. You have an innate ability to see all the strengths and flaws in those around you, and unless you find few or no weaknesses in a person, it will be very difficult for them to penetrate the barrier and get very close to you.
The Planet MERCURY
Mercury's sign describes your thought processes and projection. It's closely associated with its natural home, the third house of learning and communication. Mercury is the indication of your general intellectual orientation, and the expression of your thoughts and ideas. In other words, it describes the way you think and communicate, and the way you get information. Mercury also shows how you like to travel through life. Are you a speedster who takes the most direct route, or do you amble and get side-tracked sometimes?
Leo
In Leo, Mercury produces a mind with strong will power and stubbornly fixed purposes. Your comprehension is broad, and your expression is authoritative, sometimes even dogmatic, as the position inclines to being opinionated and rigid in viewpoint.
Your thinking has a very human touch, permitting you to make decisions that are accepted and followed by most people. You are inclined to leadership because you such a capacity to command respect. You like to be considered as the authority on matters pertaining to your field of endeavor, and you probably are. This sense of authority is aided by the dramatic and forceful way that you express yourself orally and in writings.
(yes...I guess that's right - I do like to be kinda in command and in control and junk...)
Your mental charisma and leadership style sometimes makes you a little proud and boastful. Sometimes you can get a little carried away with the importance of your ideas and expressions. Mental pride and arrogance can be a problem.
Usually with Mercury in Leo there is the tendency to become a bit lazy in a mental sense. There is often a need to cultivate more attention and exercise for the mind. Your strength is dealing with subjects in a broad-brush way, and in very general terms. You can ignore important details that leave your plan somewhat short at times. When this does happen, it is hard for you to admit a mistake.
(Hmmm...well, I've worked on that a bit - admitting mistakes and stuff...however, I've always thought I'm the one in the group who *does* make sure to check over details...)
The Planet VENUS
The planet Venus has an influence centered on the expression of emotions in personal relationships. It is especially associated with love, marriage, and the ability to attract others. Its placement in the chart shows how you express yourself in romantic relationships and in marriage. In mythology, Venus is the goddess of love, and in astrology that link is the same. In the various signs the nature of how you deal with people is modified and clarified by Venus. Venus is often in the same sign as the Sun since it can never be more than 45_ from the Sun. When it is in the same sign, there is a consistence in behavior that extends to dealing with people and in romantic situations. When Venus is in a different sign, the character of the Sun is often overcome by the romantic tug of Venus.
Cancer
If Venus is in Cancer in your chart, it produces deeply sensitive feelings. This extreme sensitivity means that feelings can be easily hurt, but you hide this vulnerability behind a somewhat dignified exterior. You have a very kindhearted and sympathetic nature, but your moods can be fluctuating and unpredictable. You approach love relationships with tenderness and great need, but there is always a sense of caution too. You know you are easily hurt and you want to protect yourself at all times. The attitude toward relationships is one of nurturing or "mothering," clinging tightly to those you love. You need to be well anchored in a relationship as the feeling of security and stability is all important to you. You like your mate to be demonstrative and provide you with clear signs that your deep feelings are appreciated and returned in kind. To you, love is home and hearth, a nest that is safe and secure. When you achieve this feeling of security, you focus on pay back in kind by doing all you can to nourish your partner's ego and ambitions. Avoid tendencies to sulk and feel sorry for yourself. Your feeling are so easily hurt, and you try to hide it by pretending it doesn't matter. Sometimes emotions take over, and sentimentality runs wild. You demand so much in romance that you are bound to have a few disappointments along the way. Your "one and only" cannot be one who does not provide the stability you must have. So you must ultimately suffer some breakups when you discover that attribute is missing. You are definitely the one-lover type. When that one stable love comes along, the relationship will be permanent.
(Wow....that's so true it's almost scary:o)But it is!! i'm serious -stop smirking!)
The Planet MARS
The sign in which Mars resides in the birth chart shows the expression of energies. Mars suggests the projection of self. This planet is linked to the sex drive, so its placement shows the approach to matters of pursuing the opposite gender. The key element of Mars is assertiveness, and its placement in the different signs qualifies and quantifies this trait. Because of this, Mars has much to do with the projection of personality. The Mars position suggests whether your energies are going to be largely physical (fire signs Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), material (earth signs Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), mental (air signs Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), or emotional (water signs Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces).
Scorpio
In Scorpio, Mars displays powerful emotions and desires. You are strong, self-reliant, extremely efficient, and highly self-disciplined. An intensity of purpose surrounds all that you undertake. This position illustrates the "do or die" principle very well. You may have an innate ability to transform other people in some significant way. You think of yourself as a "take control" person and a force to be reckoned with. You probably are.
Intensely passionate and sensual, you put much of your energy into sex. You are apt to be especially attractive to the opposite sex, irrespective of whether or not you physically attractive. You may be fascinated with sexuality in all its expressions. You're jealous and possessive of your sexual partners. Being trustworthy yourself, you expect the same from others. You're a loyal friend, or a bitter enemy, you never forget a betrayal.
Slow to anger, you rarely loose control, but when your ire is raised, you get even, and you can do so with frightening detachment. Proud, dignified, strong-willed, and stubborn, you have the sort of presence that is always felt by others even when you say nothing.
The Planet JUPITER
Jupiter takes about twelve years to move through the twelve signs of the zodiac. It is the largest planet in our solar system, and in mythology, Jupiter was the king of the gods. The dominate theme and its size may account for the theory of expansion associated with the planet. The nature of Jupiter in a horoscope relates to the expansion of horizons or growth in higher understanding. The sign placement of Jupiter helps define ones higher level of thinking. Since Jupiter stays in the same sign for about one year, many people born while Jupiter is in a given sign will have similar views on ideas and beliefs of that period. Often this placement gives clues as to your views of the weightier issues of life such as religion, philosophy and social issues of the day. Jupiter also rules optimism in living, prosperity, and growth, both mentally and physically.
Capricorn
Jupiter is in Capricorn in your chart. This position slows the expansive nature of Jupiter making you a keeper of the letter of the law. Your moral conduct is beyond reproach. In business or any public office, you display the highest ethics. You hold conservative and traditional views regarding most of life's major issues. This prudent approach and your mature judgment qualifies you for positions of high economic or political responsibility. Answering a call of both personal ambition and a sense of duty to society, you have a strong drive for power positions. You have little difficulty prospering because of your conservative attitude.
The Planet SATURN
Saturn is associated with restrictions and obstacles. These frustrating or inhibiting aspects of life are expressed through the sign that Saturn occupies in your chart. Since the planet remains in each sign for two and a half years, these are traits you may share with most of your contemporaries. The traits described become more pronounced when Capricorn is on the Ascendant (Ascendants or Rising signs will be discussed in part 2) or when Saturn is in the first house of the chart. Saturn is the natural ruler of the tenth house of the professional life, honor, fame, and success in the eyes of the world at large. Thus, the placement of Saturn denotes the approach to climbing the ladder of success, or the difficulties encountered on that ladder.
Scorpio
Saturn in Scorpio adds much purpose and impatience to your nature. You demand much of yourself and of others. You approach responsibilities with an intensity of purpose that overwhelms people who won't carry their share of the load. You have terrific willpower and much energy. With your determination, it's hard to remain calm and reflective. Secretive and unforgiving, you resent it deeply when you are treated unfairly. Despite your strong drive for success, your approach is usually subtle and calculating.
(Yup! Especially that impatience part:o) Although I'm pretty sure I can remain calm and reflective...at least most of the time)
