Wingleader S'lem & Bronze Gyvith
You look out one of the floor to ceiling windows on the bottom floor of Talor Cliff Weyr. The noon Weyrling Classes are ending and the dragons are landing. You recognize S'lem and Gyvith. They are landing in a graceful helix. Weyrling Master D'tol and some other young riders do not look Impressed. As S'lem dismounts, Gyvith, D'tol starts giving him a firm lecture. You chuckle at the bored look on S'lem's face, even from where you are. You start walking outside to meet him. As you approach S'lem, Weyrling Master D'tol is just finishing and walks off with Easoth behind him. S'lem turns and sighs, stroking Gyvith. Before you can reach him, however, M'lor walks up with his blue behind him. Even thought Gyvith is already bigger than the blue, he brings himself up to his full height.
M'lor is not much taller than S'lem, but he much more built. M'lor sneers something in S'lem's face. For now, he says nothing but from the look in his eyes you can tell that M'lor is at a dangerous level. When S'lem says nothing, M'lor goes on. S'lem's eyes stare fearlessly at M'lor until they flicker angrily and harsh words come slowly out of his mouth. M'lor looks surprised, then shocked and finally angry, a look of defeat. Meanwhile, Gyvith and M'lor's blue have been having a fight of their own. Gyvith growls deeply, louder than the blue's mightiest roar. The blue snaps at Gyvith, and he swings his head to one side, making the blue's neck vunerable. S'lem senses Gyvith's intentions and tilts his head to the side without taking his eyes of M'lor. Gyvith draws back but not before snapping so the blue is forced to take a step back. M'lor walks back and the blue follows. You decide that this isn't the best time to talk to S'lem so start back to the Weyr. But instead you hear S'lem's voice. "Hey! Where ya off to?" You turn around to see S'lem with a smile on his face as if nothing happened. He jogs towards you until he's next to you and starts walking. You can see his hair is longer now. Before it only reached his shoulders, now it falls twixt is shoulderblades. You glance back to see Gyvith spiraling up to their weyr. You ask if S'lem would like to join you for lunch. He shakes his head. "Can't. I have to go up and walk Bonfire around so he doesn't go in the weyr, then I have to some work that Jaor gave me and then I have kitchen duty so by that time I'm exhausted and go to sleep." Kitchen duty! What'd he do this time? He groans. "I don't know, actually. Jaor just put me on a month kitchen duty, so I'm going on a turn now. I might as well become a cook.I have to go now, Bonfire is probably trying to knock the door down."
