  We were really excited to be able to purchase this Junior Champion Ram Lamb at the National Suffolk Show & Sale at Sedalia, MO, 2000. He bred what we think were our best 12 ewes before he died of pneumonia during the breeding season. This buck was very correct in his hip structure, extremely long in his hind saddle, excellent bone and correctness and a beautiful profiling ram. We look forward to seeing his offspring.   "Ad Astra" was our top performance ram lamb in the 1998 lamb crop. His sire is "Running Horse" and dam is Hi Plains 60216 ("Di", lead show ewe in 1997 show flock). This yearling ram stands 41 inches tall and 42+inches long. His 60-day weaning and 120-day wts. were 97 &178 lbs., respectively. He is the best topped, rumped, most level hipped and has the best dock placement of any ram we saw in 1999. He stands on extreme bone. Ad Astra has never been shown, but those who have seen him at the farm have truly been impressed.
