Camp, or more specifically LG Camp, is a twice per year event held at the Rainbow Mountain Resort in the Poconos. Rainbow Mountain normally holds two CD [crossdresser] weekends per year, usually one at each end of their summer season. After the first two weekends that our bunch of LGs attended, Rainbow Mountain decided to set aside two additional weekends, specifically for LGs.
These weekends are magical events at which we LGs are free to dress as we choose, attend ballet classes, play skip rope and hopscotch, ride on the swing set, color or do crafts such as friendship bracelets, attend a birthday party, participate in a fashion show, and even do some shopping. We get to meet the people who participate in LG Chat, those who previously were only a name in the chatroom.
In retrospect, it is hard to come up with one definition that will adequately describe the experience of camp, although each of those who have attended camp have said that it was an experience that was completely beyond what they had expected. It is, in short, a wonderfully innocent, playful, insightful, and emotionally revealing weekend of dress-up. Photos, for personal scrapbooks only, are a memorable feature of the weekend. No photos are distributed or posted without the explicit permission of the people in the pictures.
The links below are reviews of these wonderful occasions and, where available, contain my outfit schedules for the weekend. This latter feature is really nothing more than a rough guide I use in preparing to pack for camp. At camp, schedules tend to get shuffled to meet the needs and desires of those who show up.
