Frequently Asked Questions
About LG Camp

What is the purpose of Camp?
LG Camp is organized to provide a safe, protected and supportive environment in which LGs can dress as little girls and participate in appropriate activities, free of discrimination or embarrassment.

Where and when is Camp?
Camp is held twice a year at the Rainbow Mountain Resort in East Stroudsburg, PA.  The resort maintains a website with information about the Resort and the surrounding area.  East Stroudsburg is in the Poconos, NNE of Philadelphia and WNW of Newark, NJ.  If you are flying in, Newark (EWR) is closer.  Because it is in the mountains, evenings can be cool...

Will I be safe and secure at Camp?
Although Rainbow Mountain Resort is relatively remote, there is a public road through the middle of the property.  Most of the LGs are initially very nervous about the road and the people in the cars which drive by.  After the first day, the road seems to disappear.  In fact, the environment is extremely safe and secure.  The staff is very comfortable with LGs around and we are warmly welcomed.  If anything, we feel "protected" by both the staff and the other LGs.  The Rainbow Mountain staff is very discrete and will not divulge the names of the Campers.

How many LGs show up at Camp?
The number of LGs participating in Camp has grown steadily over the past several years with each session greater than the previous.  From a small and very frightened band of seven LGs, most of whom had never appeared in public dressed as LGs, Camp IV was filled with 23 exuberant and bubbly LGs.

Who goes to Camp?
LG Camp is, as might be expected, for LGs (adult Little Girls); the activities scheduled on these weekends are orchestrated specifically for LGs.  The first two Camps were held in conjunction with Rainbow Mountain Resort's twice per year CD weekends, but all subsequent Camps were (and will be) organized specifically for the LGs.  The reason for this is, quite simply, a number of the BGs at Camps I and II were either confused by us or uncomfortable with us around.  Rather than imposing on their weekends, we now have our own special times.

Will I be welcome at Camp?
The LGs who have participated in previous Camps have been a very diverse and accepting group of people.  Although the participants have gone out of their way to welcome individuals of different ages and fashion predilections, Sissy Boys and Adult Babies may find the innocent activities, peer emphasis on modest attire and complete absence of either coercion or humiliation uncomfortable or, at least, not what they would go out of their way to attend.

Will my spouse or Significant Other (SO) be welcome?
The spouses who have attended have indicated that they found Camp to be an "interesting" experience.  They are free to participate in or abstain from any of the activities held at Camp and most have elected to participate in the Birthday Party and the meals as a minimum.  Shopping is an option, should they want to get away for a while, and there are both shopping malls and an outlet center within easy driving range.  In every instance, the LGs have gone out of their way to make spouses or SOs feel comfortable, welcome and appreciated at Camp.

Are Big Girls (BGs) or adult CDs welcome?
BGs who are comfortable being around LGs are most certainly welcome, and have been warmly welcomed, at LG Camp.  It is important to recognize that LG Camp is a vastly more innocent and modest experience than the BG Camps which are also held at Rainbow Mountain Resort.  For example, the BG Fashion show, which attracts those interested in racier and more provocative outfits, is absent from LG Camp.

Aunt Tessy of Petticoat Pond sponsored the first Camp and originally promoted it as a weekend for "Poufbunnies" and other petticoat lovers/fetishists.  When only self-described LGs showed up for that first weekend, the LGs had no choice but to assume control of the schedule and have been organizing it for themselves ever since.  Several BG poufbunnies who were not around at the time of the first two camps have recently been promoting a "revisionist" history of Camp.  In response, I have put together a recollection of the actual history on another page, Camp History (click to read), and encourage those who were present at the early Camps to publish their recollections as well.

What activities are included at Camp?
Activities vary slightly from Camp to Camp.  Under the gracious tutelage of Ms. Farida, ballet classes are conducted.  There is usually a tea party and a birthday party, replete with hats and party favors, ice cream and cake.  Rainbow Mountain Resort has a swimming pool, swings, monkey bars and an area suitable for hopscotch and jump rope.  In the event of inclement weather, there are games, coloring books and puzzles indoors.

Do I have to participate in the activities?
Absolutely not!  Campers are perfectly free to participate in whatever activities they choose, even if that means doing nothing.  LGs are a gregarious group and will attempt to engage those who are reticent to participate.  We were all uncomfortable at our first Camp and, as a consequence, go out of our way to involve the new Campers in activities to help them get over their initial shyness..  However, we do understand that LGs need to be on their own at times.  Camp is a very intensive experience, especially for those who have never appeared as LGs outside of their own closets, and you should be prepared for it to be one of the most magical events in your life.

What should I bring to Camp?
Quite simply, bring the clothes you will be most comfortable wearing.  As soon as a schedule is developed for an upcoming Camp I will post it on this site.  I use the schedule to help me organize my outfits for camp and aid in packing.  I know that several of the other LGs use the schedule for the same purpose.  If you have a favorite doll or stuffed animal, bring 'em along.  Several Campers, myself included, bring matching outfits for their doll and themselves.

Food is provided in abundance and of superior quality.  From my perspective, there is no need for TV or radio while at camp as you can see those while you are at home.  Should you forget your toothbrush or such, one or more of the other LGs will be more than happy to accompany you to Wal-Mart or K-Mart for a quick shopping trip.

Because of the mountainous location, cell phones and pagers do not work.  There are pay phones and the Resort will take messages, although their discretion may mean that they may not acknowledge that you are there.  <grin>  The rooms do not have phones, so leave your laptops at home.

What is the "dress code" at camp?
Honestly, there is none!  Good taste and a little girl's sense of modesty would encourage Campers to avoid risqué or excessively revealing clothing, lest other guests at the resort get the wrong idea.  However, Campers are free to dress as they please.  As discussed in the LG FAQ, the fashion sense of LGs ranges from the very frilly to the not-frilly-at-all and you can expect to see LGs wearing party dresses, school, Brownie and cheerleader uniforms and all manner of clothing appropriate to either the occasion or the whim of the individual.  For example, in ballet class you will find ballet outfits of all types, with and without tutus.  Ballet slippers do make dance class a whole lot more comfortable.

What about Camp pictures?
LGs are, for the most part, extremely sensitive about their privacy and deeply resent having their pictures taken without their explicit permission, for good reason.  Unscrupulous individuals have secured copies of pictures posted to websites by participants at earlier Camps and published them in truly scandalous magazines.  For this reason alone, I strongly encourage individuals not to post pictures of themselves on their sites.  Should an LG object to having herself photographed, we will most assuredly comply with her desire and do our utmost to preserve her sense of privacy.

To preserve memories of Camp for myself and aid me in later writing my review of Camp, I have adopted the strategy of taking pictures of individuals rather than groups, or of myself together with one other LG.  I then have two prints made of the pictures, sharing the second copy with the person in the photograph.

What is the Camp Memory Book?
On the morning of the final day of Camp, we usually take time to write comments in each other's books.  It is therefore helpful to bring along a notebook or journal to collect these comments.  Some campers, myself included, find it very useful to bring along a journal in which to record observations and memories throughout Camp.

When is the earliest I can register for Camp?
Historically, Rainbow Mountain Resort did not schedule events further out than a month or so.  Since the LGs come from not only every corner of the US, but from all over the world, scheduling Camp many months in advance allows the Campers to take advantage of lower advance airfares.  As a consequence, Rainbow Mountain now schedules the next LG Camp before the conclusion of the previous one.  Campers can then register for the following Camp as they checkout from Camp.
