Full title: 'Dr. Strangelove - or - How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.' Comedy from 1963 directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott.

Dr Strangelove was Stanley Kubrick’s earliest and most regarded works. It is a black comedy set during the height of the Cold War. Dr Strangelove is essentially an anti-war film which works because it pokes fun at the tragic absurdity of conflict. When a simple mistake is made in the American military's nuclear facilities, a doomsday scenario quickly ensues, promising full-scale nuclear holocaust.

Peter Sellers once again stars as many different characters, Dr Strangelove, President Merkin Muffley and Group Captain Lionel Mandrake.

Peter Sellers was originally cast for the role of Major T.J. 'King' Kong, the gung-ho hick pilot determined to drop his bombs, but it is thought he experienced difficulties with the required Texan accent. This is hard to believe of the vocally gifted Sellars. His excuse for not taking on the physically demanding role was that he 'broke his leg exiting a car' but the director was never convinced.
