Pictures of our cats

Baby

"Baby", February 1988 - May 1996
My very first cat and pet; my brother had given her to me when I was still single and living alone. She was my very best friend (with four legs), and when I met my husband Mario, he, too, became quickly attached to her. She was very quiet, affectionnate and proud, always posed like a little lady. When came the time to make the decision to have her euthanized (she became very sick and there was nothing else we could do), it was the most painful decision I ever had to make. I reassure myself by saying that I did her a favor, as she is no longer suffering. I will never forget her. :-)

Jake, lying on his back

Here is our big baby, Jake. He is the total opposite of Baby. Very active and playful, and always posed like a ragdoll; you hardly ever find him perfectly posed like a statue. Here, he's in his favorite position. He likes to have his belly rubbed, but don't even think about it if he's in the mood to play.

Jake the gentleman

Yes, I know, I said that he's hardly ever posed like a little statue. This is an exceptionnal case. Despite his efforts, he will never have the proud look Baby had.

Jake's mittens

Here we can see that Jake has "elephant paws", e.g. he has "thumbs"
(6 claws on one paw, 7 claws on the other; Mister Jake is very well equipped!).

Jessie

Jessie, our new arrival. We got her 6 months after Baby's death. Because Jake became too lonely, we decided to take a chance and introduce him to a companion. It turned out to be an excellent decision because they get along perfectly and will often play together like children! :-) (It does tend to me annoying when they decide to play in the middle of the night, though...) Moreover, Jessie was an abandonned kitten that my brother found in his yard. He offered her to me because he didn't want to keep her, so if I didn't take her in, he would have sent lil' Jessie to the SPCA.
Me and my big ol' heart!! :-)
