Gabrielle
Our Little Princess...

Gabrielle is definitely a "little princess" -- she's cute, and she knows it! She is Xena's litter-mate and our little wunderkind. She is the smartest of our bunch, and she knows how to stand up, roll over, and jump on cue! Unfortunately, this also means she's difficult to entertain and always in trouble. If there's a ferret somewhere doing something ferrets are not supposed to be doing, it's a pretty good bet it's her.

She can open cabinets, push books off shelves, climb on the forbidden dining table and computer table, and even open her cage! Every time we change things around to thwart her efforts, she figures out a new and different

way to do it, thus regularly outsmarting us, her pet humans. We had to rig cage latches that she simply isn't strong enough to open, because she sure knows how!

She is also the most affectionate of our bunch, and she loves to give snuggles and kisses. :-) She was diagnosed with dilative cardiomyopathy over three years ago and given six months to live. However, she is still going strong, doing quite well on a combination of digitalis, lasix, and enacard. There's some indication on x-rays that her enlarged heart has actually gotten a bit smaller! She is still happy at 6 1/2 yrs old and she still lives a pretty normal life. We hope she will for some time to come.
