BONAVENTURE (Gaudry-Bourbonniere) LEMIRE MARSOLET (b.1735) married MARIE-JOPSEPHE (Chaput) SENEZ daughter of Marie-Josephe Chaput & Jean-Baptiste Senez (Senet), son of Nicolas Senez. Marie-Josephe Senez had a brother also called Jean-Baptiste Senez, like their Father, and this brother married Marie-Suzanne Viger. * * * * * * THE CHILDREN OF MARIE JOSEPHE SENEZ and BONAVENTURE (Gaudry) LEMIRE MARSOLET: 1. Madeleine, b. June 12 1762 2. Marie-Egyptienne, b.Sept 7.1763 3. Bonaventure, b. April 3 1765, married twice (see below) and had 17 children 4. Suzanne, b. March 24 1767, married Antoine Brouillette dit Laviolette 5. Josephta, b. 1770, married on Jan.12 1790, Louis Bricaut Lamarche 6. Antoine-Salomon, b.July 4 1773 7.Ursule, b. Nov.6 1774 married Pierre (Beignet) Pichet on July 6 1790 8. Alexis, b. Aug.7 1777 9. Joseph Benoni, b. Nov.13 1778, married Marie-des-Anges Gauthier-Landreville on Nov.24 1795. * * * * * * Their son, Bonaventure (Senez) LeMire Marsolet had 21 children from two wives: First marriage: Elisabeth Mireault - nine children Second marriage: Helene Roussin, twelve children. Bonaventure, born in 1765, son of Bonaventure and Marie-Josephe Senez, first married on July 24th 1787 (two years after the exiled Acadians were given permission to go to Louisiana to re-settle) to an Acadian refugee: Elisabeth (Isabelle) Mireault * * * * * * CHILDREN OF BONAVENTURE SENEZ LEMIRE-MARSOLET ET ISABELLE/ELISABETH MIREAULT 1. Bonaventure MARSOLAIS (b. 3 decembre 1792), marie en 1814 Marie-Anne Martel (read "Martel") 5. Joachim (mort-ne) 6. Elisabeth (Mireault) Marsolet Lemire (b.1795) 7. Marie-Anne (Mireault) Lemire Marsolet (b.1797) 8. Ursule (1798-1799) 9. Francois-Xavier (Mireault) Lemire-Marsolet (b.24 novembre 1800), Docteur M.D., marie en 1824 a Herminie Chenault Dorval, fille de Ademard Dorval, epoux de Exerine Chenault. The parents of Bonaventure were Bonaventure Gaudry-Bourbonniere LeMire Marsolet and Marie-Josephe Chaput Senez; his Paternal Grand-Parents were Joseph Foucault Lemire-Marsolet (son of Jean-Francois Marsolet Lemire-Marsolet [b. July 2nd 1675 - second son to Jean Lemire & Louise Marsolet] and of Francoise Prevost Foucault) who married Madeleine Gaudry-Bourbonniere in 1727. Joseph & Madeleine had a busy life, raising twelve children and seeing New-France become British. (... see Gaudry-Lemire) * * * * * * EIGHT (surviving) CHILDREN OF BONAVENTURE (Senez) LEMIRE MARSOLET and HELENE ROUSSIN 1. Marie-Helene (Roussin) Lemire Marsolet, b. Aug. 19 1811. GodFather: Bonaventure Lemire; GodMother: Julie Peltier (dame DENIS LESAGE) 2. Eustache-Bernard (Roussin) Lemire Marsolet, b.20 juin 1812. GodFather: Laurent Dorval, GodMother Marie-Judith Fontaine-Bienvenu. He married FLORENCE BROSSEAU of LaPrairie and they had two children: Eustache (an MD) and Adelina (dame Elzear BOURASSA) 3. Joseph-Nicaise Marsolet Lemire b.14 decembre 1813. Married Justine Papin TWELVE CHILDREN. 4. Richard-Benoni, b. 3 mai 1815. Married Mlle Racicot. Children: Ludger, Louise & Valerie (Racicot) LEMIRE, ac 5. Francois de Borgia EDOUARD (Roussin) LEMIRE MARSOLET, b. 11 octobre 1816. GodFather: Francois VAILLANT and GodMother: Marie-Louise Sophie LACROIX. Il fut probablement le parrain (EDOUARD MARSOLAIS, oncle) de Joseph-Charles (Papin)LEMIRE MARSOLET, b. le 26 decembre 1842, fils de JUSTINE et NICAISE qui mourut a trois semaines. La marraine fut Flavie Dorval, cousine de Joseph Charles. 6. Luce-Dorothee (Roussin) Lemire Marsolet, b. 12 decembre 1817 who married Dr.Norbert Chamberland: their children were: Ovila, Lea, Orgeline & Alcide (Lemire) CHAMBERLAND 7. Charles-Eugene (Roussin) Lemire Marsolet b. 17 fevrier 1821, became cure of St-Clet et St-Urbain 8. Jean-Baptiste Sabin (Roussin) Lemire Marsolet b.13 mars 1822. He died between 18 and 21 years old in the United States. * * * * * * SENEZ LALIBERTE VANIER DAUNET According to Sister Ste-Eulalie, C.N.D. (Josephine Elisabeth Cheval dit St-Jacques)(1858-1926) the French Family of the SENEZ had Spanish roots The first SENEZ who came to Canada was Nicolas Vanier Senez, dit Laliberte. He had been made a "Royal Notary", and was the son of Pierre Senez & Suzanne Vanier (or Varnier) of Notre-Dame de Vitry, diocese of Chalons, in Champagne. He was baptized c. February 22, 1664 and his GodFather was Nicolas Gerband, while his GodMother was Francoise Cerat Reader, the province of Ardennes-Champagne is located near top-right corner of France, and Vitry-le-Francois in Champagne could be seen at the site located http://perso.wanadoo.fr/eurosite/page01.htm After his arrival in New France, in May 1689, Nicolas Senez married Gertrude (Richard)Daunet, of Boucherville, Quebec. They had twelve children: Marie, Jacques, Madeleine, Gertrude, Anne Jeanne Marie, Suzanne, Nicolas, Pierre, Jeanne, Francois, Catherine, Jean-Baptiste Click here for details of children Their last child, Jean-Baptiste Senez, married Marie-Josephe Chaput One of Nicolas' children, Suzanne SENET dit Laliberte was born one the 23rd of December 1700 at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec. She was baptised the next day. She married Joseph VENNE, who was also known as Joseph VOYNE, son of Jean VENNE and Francoise BEAUCHAMP, on 23 November 1722 at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec. Suzanne Senet dit Laliberte and Joseph Venne had a son, Jean-Baptiste Venne, who got married to Marie CHEVAUDIER on 24 February 1751 at L'Assomption, Quebec. * * * * * * CHAPUT SENEZ GAUTHIER LEMAY-DELORME LOISEL SENECAL ARCHAMBAULT The first Chaput, came from Besancon in France, and lived in Pointe-aux-Trembles marrying Angelique Gauthier. They had three sons: Charles Gauthier Chaput, Nicolas Gauthier Chaput, Jacques Gauthier Chaput who married in the Lemay-Delorme, Loisel (read Chouteau-Papin) & Senecal families. * * * * * * Another CHAPUT, Francois, came from Clermont in France. He was the Father of Michel Chaput and Grand-father of Marie-Charlotte who married, in 1791, Jean-Louis Archambault. The SENEZ were part of the Chaput branch which came from Besancon. * * * * * * The GREAT-GRAND PARENTS OF BONAVENTURE were Jean-Francois LeMire-Marsolet and Francoise Foucault In 1701 was the marriage between Jean-Francois LeMire-Marsolet and Francoise Foucault which spurred the population of Trois-Rivieres where Francoise lived with her parents, Jean-Francois Foucault who had arrived there in 1671, and his wife Elisabeth Prevost, de St-Nicolas de Rouen in France. They had eight children: Jean-Francois (1701) Marie-Anne (1703) Joseph (1705) Jean-Baptiste (1707) Marguerite (1710 - 1711) Rene (1712> Alexis (1708) Pierre (1716) Jean-Francois LeMire et Francoise Foucault's CHILDREN, WITH THEIR WIVES & CHILDREN : Jean-Francois II Lemire born in Three-Rivers in 1701 was married on February 10 1727 to Francoise Monty-Niquet from St.Francois-du-Lac Marie-Anne, born on March 11 1703 was a student of the Ursulines Nuns The third child was Joseph born in Three-Rivers on Feb.15 1705, was married on November1727 to Madeleine-Gaudry de Bourbonniere from Varennes<. M.Marguerite Pont from Varennes 2. M.Catherine Pinard from Nicolet They had several children who married in the families of: LOISEAU from Boucherville; PROVENCHER, PINARD, FRIGANNE, LASPRON or LAMPRON BOUDROT, PINARD, + DANIAU, POIRIER, Ac. Yes,one of their son's, Raphael Lemire who was married to MARIE-THERESE PROVENCHER-BELLEVILLE, became Uncle to Mgr Joseph-Norbert Provencher first First Vicar of St.Boniface at the Red River. * * * * * * 18th Century BAIE ST-ANTOINE Here are some Extracts to see the extent of what had once belonged to the Lemire Family in the 18th century, and this simply by those "Extraits" from the "Actes de Foi et Hommages" held by "Les Archives la Puissance du Canada": In 1798, Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lozeau held the major part of Baie St-Antoine, having bought the properties from: Rene Guay Joseph Lamprons dit La Charite & his wife Jeanne Marie-Anne Dauphine Joseph Lefebvre des Coteaux & his wife Catherine Lampron Antoine Fleurant dit Beauchemin & wife Madeleine Lampron WHICH WERE ALL INHERITORS OF MADELEINE LEMIRE, DAME BASILE PRISQUE LASPRON, daughter of Jean-Francois II LeMire and Francoise Monty Niquet, petite-fille de Jean-Francois LeMire-Marsolet and Francoise Foucault. Also, Mr. Lozeau had bought, in 1798, the rights of: Louis Auri dit Grandmont & his wife Angelique Cloutier Antoinette Lafond, widow of Antoine Benoit. In 1800, he had bought the rights of: Pierre LeMire & his wife Marie-Josephe Lacerte; Francois LeMire & his wife Catherine Martel; Rene Lefebvre de Beaulac, Julie, Therese and Francoise de Beaulac; Etienne Lesperance & his wife Elisabeth Lemire-Despins, Jean-Baptiste Cartier & his wife Marguerite Despins In 1804, he bought more land from: Francois LeMire, son and legate of Antoine LeMire and Genevieve Chevrefils Louis LeMire & his wife Therese Crevier Deschenaux, Joseph Lefebvre Beaulac. In 1812 Lozeau owned also the land bought by Antoine Lemire from his sister Marguerite Lemire, widow of Gabriel L'Ange Lefebvre des Coteaux. Rene Lefebvre, son of Jacques, had married Gabrielle Foucault, sister of Francoise Foucault, dame Jean-Francois LeMire-Marsolet.Her daughter Marie-Jeanne Lefebvre had married Jean Baptiste Provencher. The niece of Gabrielle Foucault was Marguerite and she married Claude Laspron or Lampron, dit La Charite. The son of Cllaude Lampron, Basile Prisque-Lampron, married Madeleine Lemire, and another of his sons, Francois Laspron, married Marie-Antoinette Lemire Les Houris dit Grandmont, les Lafond and Benoit were allied to the Laspron; The Guay or Le Guay were tied to the Lefebvre.
