In the Bible, the Holy Word of God, are stories or incidents, so compelling, as to stand head and shoulder above other narratives. The fall of Adam and Eve, the flood story, the baptism of Christ, and his crucifixion, are familiar examples. Others come to mind, of men and women, of saints and sinners, of prophets, and kings. Stories of heroism and villainy, of pathos and treachery, of victory and defeat.
Few Christians understand the depth and breadth of the human drama unfolded in the pages of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments. It is to enrich the understanding of God’s word, that I present Biblical Snapshots, a collection of excerpts from the five books that compromise the Great Controversy series by Ellen. G. White.
In rich and vibrant narrative, characters of the Bible come to life as they wrestle with God or Satan. Through these pages, you will see the triumph of God’s love displayed as well as the defeat of Satan’s plans for the destruction of the saints and the murder of Christ.
Biblical Snapshots is not a complete narrative of the Bible but only “snapshots,” of the whole. They are presented here that you may be encouraged to read further into these delightful stories and that you may discover something of God’s love and mercy for you and sinners like you.
