Tin Machine was written and recorded in six weeks. They started recording in Amsterdam, the day after they met each other.
During recording of Tin Machine, Reeves couldn't remember which brother was Hunt and which was Tony. (Hunt was the one who had arrived to the first recording session with a knife in a sheath at his belt, and a T-shirt that said "F--- you, I'm from Texas".)
Tin Machine was originally going to be named "Alimony Inc.", but Reeves remarried.
Tin Machine II was recorded in Australia.
