36. Felix Antonius(Anthonie) Boekema was born on 29 Sep 1852 in Breda, N. Brabant. As a widow, he emigrated in 1920 to the USA.(10) Passenger Records of the ships arriving at Ellis Island, New York, mention that his age at arrival was 66. If he was born in 1852, he was 67 or 68.

He was married to Henrica (Hendricka, Hendrieka) Aarts on 1 Aug 1877 in Breda, N. Brabant. Henrica (Hendricka, Hendrieka) Aarts was born on 26 Sep 1852 in Veghel, N. Brabant. A volunteer of the Michigan State Lookup forwarded me a paperclipping from The Macomb Daily which mentions Hendricka AARDS. An email from Jan Aarts (2 July 2002) learned me that she was the daugher of Mathijs Aarts and Johanna van de Rijt. She died in Breda on 20 Sept. 1912. Their son Antoon Petrus Joseph had then already left for the USA (1909). Matheus Johannes migrated in 1914. Her husband and Albert Joseph Mathijs in 1920.
Felix Antonius(Anthonie) Boekema and Henrica (Hendricka, Hendrieka) Aarts had eight children. There is still some confusion between data I received, because on 27 November 1936 one of the sons made an application for an account number, his present employer being Jerome A. Utley in Detroit. The application form gives as first name Albert and as middle name Joseph but also Albert and Petrus. Date of birth is March 16, 1883. So it is Albert Joseph Mathijs. But why did he sign as Albert Petrus Boekema ?. The population records of Breda never mentioned an Albert Petrus. Here follows the list of the children as I have received from
