411. Juliana Christina BOEKEMA was born on 29 Mar 1930 in Heeg. She emigrated in 1952 from Jirnsum, Fryslân, Netherlands, to Oakville, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was also known as Juul, Judy. She was named after Beppe Jeltje (Juliana) and Tante Christien (Mom's oldest sister).

Juliana Christina BOEKEMA and Johannes VAN DER MEER were married on 4 Jan 1951 in St. Marcus, Irnsum. Johannes VAN DER MEER was born on 3 Jul 1923 in Jirnsum, Fryslân. He died, probably because of heart failure, on 10 Nov 2004 in Cambridge, Ontario.

Johannes and Juul arrived on the S.S. Waterman (Holland-America Line) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on June 7, 1952. They went toOakfield, N.S, and lived next to Tjeerd and Klaske van der Zweep. Klaske was Johannes' oldest sister, and he worked with his brother in law on the same farm, which belonged to a gentleman farmer. Johs. and Juul left in 1953 for Preston, Ontario (which became part of Cambridge) and in 1955 for Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, where Jan Boekema worked on a farm belonging to the Connor Brothers, runned by Evert van der Linde from Het Bildt, Friesland. They moved with the Boekema's to Minto, New Brunswick, in 1956-57, and in 1967 to Hespeler, Ontario (which became part of Cambridge). Johs died suddenly on 10 November 2004, while he was pruning at home a rosebush in preparation for the winter.
