Here are some easy-to-make recipes using nontoxic and environmentally friendly ingredients from you kitchen pantry. Most of these cleansers work best when freshly mixed.
Mildew Remover
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup borax
2 cups water
To remove mildew from bathtub, tile, or shower curtain, wipe affected areas with mixture of vinegar, borax, and water. Or dip half a fresh lemon in borax powder and rub it over mildewed areas.
Drain Clearer
vinegar
salt
baking soda
To clear a drain clogged with grease or hair, try a mixture of equal parts of vinegar, salt, and baking soda. Let stand for 15 minutes, then pour boiling water down drain.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner
baking soda
borax
white vinegar
To clean toilet bowl, sprinkle equal parts baking soda and borax around bowl, add white vinegar, and clean with toilet brush. For stubborn stains, leave mixture in overnight.
