In the book "Poole, Pool, Van Poole Heritage" by James R. Poole, there are the following Cooks:

• Effie Pool (dau. of Pierce and Rosa Scott Pool) marrried Cordy Cook who was born 1890 and died 1928. Is he a descendant of the only son of the Caldwell County, KY Cordy Cook who died in 1854 that in listed on the Cook Cemetery Page? (note: the KY Vital records web site lists an Effie Cook, died March 2, 1919 at age 28 in Graves County, KY)
• Mamie L. Pool, another daughter of Pierce and Rosa Pool, married William U. Cook who was born 6 December 1891. (All these are Caldwell families).

Also, re the Cordy Cook who died in 1854 was married to Mary Ann Hooper, daughter of Ennis Hooper and Elizabeth Wood Hooper of Caldwell. Ennis and Elizabeth were married in 1811 in Caldwell. Mary Ann was born in 1819. Mary Ann and Cordy Cook and family are listed as follows in the 1850 Federal Census Caldwell Co:

• Cordy 40 M W KY Farmer
• Polly A. 31 F W KY
• Sarah E. 8 F W KY
• Mary L. 6 F W KY
• Emily F. 4 F W KY
• Robt. H. 2 M W KY (appears to have been the only son unless another was born between 1850 and the time Cordy died in 1854)
• Joseph Anne 3/12 F W KY

Next farm on one side was James Cook, 84 M W Farmer 650 NC and a Lourainey Brown 58, F W NC.

On the other side of the Cordy Cook family was the Pickering family. Mary Ann Hooper's sister married a Pickering in the 1850's or 1860's. (note: http://www.starbase21.com/kybiog/caldwell/pickering.rr.txt)

There was also a James L. Cordy 14 W M KY living nearby with a West family.

Lynda Hyman is descended from Mary Ann Hooper's brother who married into the Pool-Brown family.

Mary Ann "Polly" Hooper Cook remarried after Cordy's death to a James Fletcher and had more children. They were living in the Pollard's Tanyard area of Caldwell in 1860.
