The effort to collect Cook information for Kentucky and Tennessee was expanded from the original purpose to collect Cook information for the Jackson Purchase area only. The Jackson Purchase Area of Kentucky is the most western part of the state and includes: Please note that the family stories are being moved from these pages to http://www.ancestorstories.org BUT the mountains of census, marriage, land records and other information will remain on this site.
Every effort has been made to provide the submitter's name and e-mail address; but as with all information, please double check with the originator or your own sources. My Cook line is rather short, and this web site grew from a desire to not only break down my brick wall but help other researchers as well. Credits for the creation of this site extend to everyone who has visited and contributed but also Carla Dixon-Wolcoff, Charlie Cook, and Ellie Stephens - some pretty terrific Cook researchers. Special thanks are also extended to Cyndi's list which has added this site to her directory of genealogy sites to surf. We have added many family pages as well as informational pages to this site. Additional researchers and family information is available on most county "census" pages. Actually depending on the county, much more information can be found there. Such things as cemeteries, marriages, births .. it just depends on what we found or what others have provided to us. If you only have time to visit one page on this site - make it the COOK Census page. The census page provides COOK family information on every county in Kentucky and Tennessee. But it is not just census records. Information is sorted by the county and information varies from county to county. This site has been on-line for about 2 years and time does not allow me to do look ups for other researchers - assume that if the information that you are seeking is NOT here - we don't have it. Every effort is made to update these pages. A new bulletin board for queries is coming soon! Happy Surfing. |
