Return to Start Page / Cook Main Page / Census / Tennessee / Kentucky / Jefferson Davis Cook ** My Brick Wall ** The Cook information is being made available to help others find their missing Cook ancestors - I can not link to these families - but for anyone who can break down my brick wall - please do!! Jefferson Davis Cook 1860 - 1916 Visit http://www.genrecords.com and print out a census form - it will be very helpful when looking at these census pages.
Gibson County USGENWEB site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngibson/
from that I site I learned: Gibson County is located in West Tennessee, one of the state's three "grand divisions," and was created in 1823 from the Chickasaw Indian Cession, and is named in honor of John H. Gibson. The county seat is Trenton. Another good site for Gibson County History is at: http://www.angelfire.com/tx/rn4kids/gibson.html . Gibson County has by far one of the best resources for information on line. They have the 1830, 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census online. (I had notes gleemed at my public library for the census information presented.) They also have marriages and many cemeteries listed. A surname search is available and it is a site worth visiting.

Church records state that a committee acquired land for this cemetery in the year 1908 and that it replaced the church's former burial ground, Crocker Cemetery. The oldest year of death I found was 1911, but there may have been burials previous to that at unmarked graves or with uninscribed tombstones. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngibson/cemeteries/pisgah.txt
