Scott County was formed in 1792 from Woodford
County. It is located in the Inner Bluegrass
region of the state, and has an elevation range of 690 to 1060 feet above sea
level. In 1990 the county population was 23,867 in a land area of 285 square
miles, an average of 83.7 people per square mile. The county seat is Georgetown,
the home of Georgetown College
and Toyota Motor Mfg.
