Taylor County, Kentucky

Cook Family Information

USGENWEB Site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kytaylor/

From this site I learned: Taylor County, KY is in south-central Kentucky and was visited by "Long-Hunters" prior to 1779.  The "Cumberland Trace" crossed the rolling hills by 1779. On March 1st, 1848, the Kentucky State Legislature formed Taylor County as Kentucky's 100th county from the northeast portion of Green County. Campbellsville became the county seat and the first courthouse was constructed during that year.
